Perhaps the Thais are really into Miss Universe-- the public voted, right?
My (very) limited experience says so. I actually watched Miss Universe two years ago in a cyber cafe in Chiang Mai. The owner of the cafe, some 30 year old guy, was sitting on the floor behind his desk the whole time so that nobody could see him. I don't know what he was doing, but I have my guesses.
And I haven't gone through all nine pages, but has nobody else said it: Miss Denmark's pictures highly resemble Syesha.
