Once you're on the dark side of 30, it's hard to recover -- especially from joint injuries. Start slow and build up your pace and distance gradually -- that's the right way to do any kind of exercising, whether it's cardio, weights or stretching. And don't worry if other people are passing you by, or look fitter than you. Remember, those people are a really small minority -- most of the country is home on their couches and couldn't keep up with you!
If you can get to the point where you're walking briskly for an hour a day, you'll be exercising more than 95% of the population -- and feeling good!
