I had a great relationship with them when they were alive. Luckily my paternal grandfather is still around, hanging in there at 95. His hearing and eyesight are pretty bad, but he still lives on his own in his condo. My maternal grandparents both died of cancer in the 1980's and my paternal grandmother died in '06 after a long bout of Alzheimer's.

I had some of the best times of my life going on trips with them. Ahhhhh...to be young again.
