Hmmm, if the plane broke upon crashing into the water then a lot of prople could have gotten out, unless the ones near the breaks in the fuselage died immediately. I guess we'll need to wait to see if they add yet another story arc related to this to the show. I don't really see how any revelations like this would actually affect the LOST story. Unless a reporter or someone else uses this information to help the Losties get back to the island this sort of thing seems to only support the off season web thingees which are generally non-canon information. Time will tell!
