Chicken of the egg? Do they decide a guy is going to win so they stack the deck with good guys or do they find themselves with a cast of good guys and therefore decide a guy is going to win?

David and David were popular because they deserved to be. They are both talented singers who did a much better job than ANY of the women on the show. Jason and Brooke were about equally worthy and lasted roughly the same amount of time as one another. I don't see a gender issue there. Carly went home because she was never that likeable to begin with, and then she gave a bunch of terrible performances. No idol contestant - male or female could survive that...
