I'm much more interested in how everyone believes Kate's story about Aaron.
Same here. Kate said at the post-rescue press conference that Aaron was 5 weeks old, which would mean she "gave birth" to him around December 7th (assuming the press conference was around January 9 or 10), roughly 11 weeks after the crash. A full term pregnancy runs about 38 weeks from the time of fertilization (source). So, she would have been about 27 weeks -- or about 6-1/4 months -- into her pregnancy at the time of the crash, if she "gave birth" at full term.
I suppose she could claim that she gave birth prematurely due to the stress of the crash and surviving on a desert island while caring for several injured people. In that case, her pregnancy may not have been as visible while she was still in Australia.
The real issue, however, is that it should be pretty obvious that Aaron is more than 5 weeks old.
