For the sake of discussion: I'm pretty sure the mind isn't working 100% after being in his situation for 36 days. Throw in the fact that he's too trusting, naive and starstruck to make a rational decision. Pretty easy for us to judge him when all we do is watch him in one hour blocks once a week from the comforts of our living rooms.
You're starstruck when you can idolize somebody and not deal with theiur reality. A month of Cirie would make me nauseous, not awestruck. Even Amanda gets pretty gamey only a day after her spa treatment.
Anyone who has been through basic training has had a tougher time "surviving" then these media whores. I'll freely judge him from the comfort of my bed while stuffing raisenettes down my gullet.
