Honestly, the true stupidity on his part was illustrated earlier in the episode when he started all of that maneuvering horseshit with the girls!! What, he
had no idea that "girl power" was the driving force behind all of the strategy once the merge happened? 
He clearly would have been much smarter to sit off by himself, sulking, until the Immunity Challenge - if he actually decided to put two brain cells
together and think, he would have known that he had a decent shot at the very least at capturing the necklace. No dirt on his hands at all = no ability for
the girls to play the guilt trip....
