Depends. On the one extreme, I couldn't have grown Jack's beard if I never shaved EVER. I just can't grow facial hair. But I know some people who would have Jack's beard if they didn't shave for 3 days. Seriously.

I don't know, my boyfriend can grow a pretty good beard, but he didn't shave for about 4 months last winter, and his beard wasn't nearly as voluminous as Jack's. I would say that it would take a good 6 months AT LEAST.
