Anybody wondering if Paula's mindless cheerleader routine actually has any effect on the show need look no futher than Jason Castro. Not only did her screwup probably generate enough sympathy votes to keep him out of the bottom 2, but he might not have tried out for the show at all if not for her. If Paula wasn't there, would any singer actually have the nerve to think (correctly, as it turns out) that they could get through practically an entire season of the show while totally baked the whole time?

I also have to disagree with Simon. He called Jason's singing tuesday "forgettable." This is obviously not true at all, since Paula was able to remember the second song even before hearing it.
