Obviously the downward trend is people getting just plain tired of the endless show. Ratings will continue to go down until the finals. AI PTB want people to watch religiously for 5 months for their own benefit - so they can wrap up ratings week in May. Everyone watching already has picked their favorites during the first 3 weeks, and just watch until their favorite gets the boot, then they tune out.
