They neglected to show the Detour in the TAR2 finale or the penultimate episode of TAR5. Also, I'm going to assume that since they made it to the dunes and S/D didn't, that footage was edited out because there was no suspense involved. Incidentally, that leg was a little fucked up for the twins; Chris/Alex get a speeding penalty at the start of the next leg (which, after bunching, did nothing) when, by staying within the given speed limit, they could've also missed the Detour, creating a (fairly close) two-team race the next day for elimination.
Also, if Shola & Doyin had any chance of being able to catch Chris & Alex, chances are they would've made it for the previous leg. (Mind you, it didn't happen for Melody & Sharon)
