I think that's just the thing with cannon fodder. You'll get carried if you give a string of good performances, and once the judges slam you, you're out. Jason started out as cannon fodder, but delivered two awesome performances in the semis that gained a bit of a following and suddenly, Simon pans him, and he winds up in the bottom 3. Didn't happen with Archtard and a few others, I think Jason still has that fodder quality where his fanbase plummeted a bit after one bad performance.
