I've seen people take random pictures of people that I of-times have to assume are their friends and use them in interactive fiction games ect. and I also assume that they don't have permission. I guess that I just feel that it isn't a problem because I have posted so many pictures and no names/ personal information that everything becomes so anonymous. I see why people would probably see this as probably not a good thing to do, but I just don't see it that way
Also, since you mention the fact that these are profile pictures, I will add the fact that since they are profile pictures that adds another element to the thing. Any member of Facebook can search for common interests with certain people and see that profile picture, even though they do not even know that person. Also, Facebook has a policy that states they can use our images in advertising, and I feel that I never personally had a problem with this because it is anonymous, and that anyone on Facebook [and I've known people who have quit Facebook over this] should have the same feeling. And I feel like this is just as anonymous
And PT, I admit it, yes, I do crop these images myself, but I'm doing it for multiple projects at once not just this one... not really an excuse but true.
