Confusion about the Switchback | ||
|
Maybe I'm completely wrong on this, but I thought the point of the Switchback was that a team could make the OTHER member of a team do the Roadblock. So,
for example, when Meghan completed it, Ericka could have used the "Switchback" and made Cheyne do the task also. So I'm guessing nobody opted to
do this or I'm totally off-base. It is definitely a suitable alternative to a U-Turn which doesn't seem to be in the Race at all this season. Am I
wrong about the concept of this?

I thought that too but it appears Switchback is simply using an old challenge again. Way to go TAR.

I think switchback = flashback.

I always thought it had to do with the country they were in. If they were in a country that a previous season visited then they had to do the task from that season's episode. |

Aussie slang. My favorite Roadblock of all time. Probably had something to do with Oswald rocking it, while Blake and Wil totally messed it up. Still makes me
smile.
Go back to your partner... <pause> GO BACK TO YOUR PARTNER???!!!! |

The boats and the bikes in Vietnam.
And of course the broken ox and the milking task. Pretty much anything with animals. |

I know it was pretty recent, but walking the donkeys was awesome (especially because the donkeys cost a crappy team the race.)

For TAR16:
Ribbon Roping in Argentina Drinking Epsom Salts in South Africa (If you go there, they will kill you.) Australian slang in Sydney Plow detour, would be convert to Roadblock, which it done in TAR Asia 2 and Israel. |

Even the Australian roadblocks were Australian slang phrase, Throwing a boomerang, Finding a clue beneath the aquarium (which it done in TARA1), Cairns buggy
race, Rowing under the Fremantle prison and Skydiving 10,000 feet in the air.

Off topic question: Why aren't the Bungee jump roadblocks considered Switchbacks? They basically jump off a high platform then get their next clue
afterwards.

For me, anything that got the teams messy and crazy and hurt:
- The ox race in India (with TianJaree getting eliminated) - Colin's breakdown detour in the Philippines - the Holi festival in India with the colored powders - Tomatino in Spain For non-crazy/dirty ones that were annoying and/or funny: - the China lock and key ones where Hayden and Aaron had to quit - the circular boats in Vietnam (TAR3) - sausage eating task in All Stars |
