Again: the only player to be vis. 1 and UTR in the merge episode was 16 seasons ago. Edgically he's not viable. So for those of you tooting edgic guidelines, he doesn't fit them better than Jaison for that one simple reason. Now if you look beyod edgic guidelines, and the season as a whole, keep him in; this season doesn't really have any great candidates at all (it did until Mick's merge ep). Mick has received a lot of unnecessary focus; his episode 4 edit was great, he's been shielded from his terrible leadership, and the episode 5 scene with him in the tree seemed so out of place. But saying he's totally viable is bullshit. Hey, he drove me nuts! They all are! I should sue for pain and suffering... =P Funny considering how many people you drive nuts ... you've totally lost it, and I'm not going to go into it with you because it's more frustrating than anything, but you need to learn some class and when to STFU. I think it's interesting that some people are bending the rules of visibility to allow for a possible Russell win but find it ludicrous to do the same for a possible Natalie win. I think one is worth considering just as much as the other.

If I wasn't so hesitant to un-eliminate people, I would probably have him on my chart, though the redemption edit tends not to be the winning edit. Hmm... At least it's something else to think about. This I can agree with. It doesn't make sense for people to say Mick is edgically viable when he has something that was assumed to be very important that 17/18 winners have had. It doesn't make sense for Natalie to be edgically viable either. I echo kitty: Jaison is the best EDGIC choice.

Her first scene was definitely OTTN. Her second major scene was CPN with a little OTTN for the "I have 90% control" statement. MORN could be a compromise but I don't feel it does either scene justice. Anyone care to give an argument for one of the three ratings? GF - Just a question, why the MOR for Monica? Her only confessional was about the feast, her scene with Russell was about Russell, there was no insight from her. The rest of her edit was a fluff TC question and people talking about voting her off. I might be missing something, so I'd love to hear why you have her MOR instead of UTR.

Yes, but then what about all the edgic contenders who had great episode 1's and did not win? That doesn't mean that the episode 1 rule should be thrown out. The great episode 1/merge edit guideline is used to narrow down the pool and eliminate people . If the merge or episode 1 was used to pinpoint the winner, then nobody would be allowed to have a good merge episode or episode 1 besides the winner/person voted off that episode. In all those seasons, the person who won also had a great merge episode. Content of those episodes are up for debate and who had the better merge episode is subjective; but the guideline of great merge episode narrows it down to a pool of contestants who could win. I just thought that her being a boot target, the scene with Russell, Kelly telling her she was being targeted, and her somewhat insightful TCQ (I didn't find it to be fluff as it didn't have to be included) was enough to put her above the other UTR people, like Dave for example. If I was giving Dave an UTR2, I felt Monica's edit had more substance than that. One of the MOR criteria says "for normally UTR characters who couldn't escape inclusion in the story," and I felt this fit her edit mostly for her being a boot target once again.

I could also argue that this is a 12-person merge (lots of people to fit into an episode, Mick got a confessional which was pretty important). Also, although he was UTR, he wasn't forgotten/ignored--lots of focus on all FoaFoa's working as a well-oiled machine. Thanks for playing!

She was the bitch we wanted to see go and she didn't get much complexity--more like arrogance.
