It could very well turn out that way. However, I was really asking for Mick scenes that they could play just before the Reunion, after he's just won. What stand-alone scenes can they feature, without explanatory Probst commentary, that would jog the audience's memory about Mick, the winner? In your account you've given two such Mick scenes: Mick - "I'm doing the best I can...to try and get through this." Mick - "We welcome it." My point is, he needs/needed more than this. Much more.

These scenes, together with the post-merge package of Sugar saying he's awesome, his fake idols and his challenge wins tell you everything you needed to know about Bob's win in a few seconds. Mick? Maybe it's me, but I can't see how utterances such as "I have leadership qualities, it takes more than just a doctors note to get through MedSchool" and "I'm loyal, I'm here to win" can awaken recognition in the audience. Here's some things I noticed. Interesting that Shambo mentioned a can of whoop ass in episode one at camp, and so did Erik at the IC. She talked to John and Erik about the idol and voting for her. She makes F3, and she can get those votes - only. I forgot that Monica voted Shambo to be the leader at the beginning. Funny now to see that. Also, another quote for the finale intro - Russell - "Mick is the leader of the tribe, but I'm the leader around camp." I'd forgotten that one. It's lived up to that ever since. That the season edit. Natalie in episode 1, besides no real dialogue and no confessionals, got the negative SPV of dumber long haired blonde, to which she immediately said she trusts Russell, who then re-asserts you shouldn't trust him. The Bestsy-Natalie scene is interesting, but Natalie is still the dumber long haired blonde. She'll catch on and beat Russell at the end, which seems to me to be kicking him right before the final vote. Shambo gets those 2 votes, Natalie was a follower, and Mick follows a pick up at the merge and wins. Or John wins and I'm just a loser. :-P They didn't go over why Mick voted Ashley over Marisa, or any repercussions from Russell in ep 2. He went after Betsy, why not Mick? Odd. Michael

Speaking only for myself, but possibly others, I'm in no way trying to convince anyone that I see Natalie winning as edgically viable. You're correct, she doesn't follow the traditional pattern set for winners, and is a little off of the non-traditional ones we've seen in a few season. I do think that Mick would be an edgically viable winner, but I don't think that necessarily means that he wins. The point I'm making, is that edgic might not predict the winner of this season. Or rather, the editing portion of it. I think this season we're going to have an edgically a-typical winner, that winner being Natalie, for the reasons that myself and many others have stated. Does that make sense to everyone else? I just think that too many people are talking at each other, without really understanding each other's arguments.

The point of Edgic is to predict the winner using Edgic guidelines. If there is a different art of editing that could predict Natalie as the winner, have at it, but seeing as this is the Edgic thread, we are using Edgic rules to attempt a prediction of the winner. That's why there's this entire Speculation forum - if you want to predict Natalie as the winner using predicted finale quotes or whatever other method, have at it; however, bringing non-Edgic editing "patterns" into the Edgic thread and then trying to paint those who are discussing Edgic in the Edgic Thread is hardly a valid discussion technique. For the record, I like Natalie from what I've seen of her. Those who are painting her as a mastermind may indeed be correct in their assumption, but as far as the intent of the editing, it's nearly impossible to see her as such.
