I haven't been over there yet, but the Edgicers must be jumping off of ledges with the disappearance of their Golden Boy this episode. . . .

I loved last night's episode. Finally, we had a little action! If Russell's goal was to created chaos and confusion, I guess he succeeded. I still
don't understand what he expected to gain by telling people that he has the HII. That made sense way back when you could use it after the votes were
announced, but it makes no sense now -- all it's going to do is put a target on your back because people are going to try and force you to use it. Nice to
see Jaison make a move, even if it seemed more emotional than strategic (which seems to be his MO) and Natalie did a great job weaseling her way into the
pretty girl alliance (big surprise!).

Jaison just acts emotional so he can get his strategic way. Like his threatening to quit even though he had no intention to.

Laura, John, Russell, Dave, Jaison, and Nat can stay as the F5.
The rest can leave. kthanxbye |

Jaison only seems interested in playing the game when his feelings get hurt. Voting out Ben was strategically stupid at a time when Foa Foa needed physical
strength in the challenges, but Jaison needed to make himself feel good by "getting" the redneck. Last night, he didn't seem to care much until
Erik talked down to him. Then all of a sudden it was "We need to get Erik". I call that playing emotionally.

Sort of. Erik was drunk with power. Erik was talking shit AND revealing his hand which is a fatal combo. So Jaison said, if the mother is going to abort the
baby, why not go ahead and kill the mother and let the baby go down with the ship.

Wait. . . So Erik is the drunken mother and Jaison is the aborted baby? And who is the ship? Brett? Or Brent? Or whoever the fuck that guy is?

The baby is Foa Foa. Galu is the mother. If the mother aborts the baby, why not take down the mother too? Or at the very least the perceived head, if your
first plan doesn't pan out.

And that means Probst is the abortion doctor, and we should bomb his house. Got it.

It was good to see Jaison finally using his brain... but it was really awesome to see Natalie displaying such amazing social skills! The girl is set to make it
to the finals and I'm starting to like it.

Great thread---no idea how I missed it before.
Suffering or Strategy? Both. As other people have mentioned, I generally don't like seeing people suffer. But, if there are people working past the hardships and are finding a way to work their game in, then I love it. In retrospect, I can intuit why Samoa focused on the suffering (perhaps to add complexity to character development). What I mean is, Jaison may have been vocal in his complaints in regard to the suffering (something to which I tend to have a completely visceral response after Osten) but at least we can see that his complaints were legitimate and certainly not over the top. I love love love to see people who have been faced with disadvantage use it as a psychological reason to kick ass in the future--- I love the challenge response. I loved it on Cook when those last four (forget the tribe name) kicked ass in challenges and I love it now. So, strategy despite suffering? Yeah, count me in. |
