Clearly she implemented the plan. But we have no way of knowing whether it was her plan or someone else's plan or a group decision to approach Laura. The only thing we really know is that it was not Russell's idea.

I mean, duh. I fail to see how that is somehow "masterminding" anything. Russell's idol would sill be gone, and Jaison would be, too. I wouldn't call Jaison a 'mastermind' per se, but his idea saved his ass, little did he know... I'd say Natalie did the grunt work, being the more social of the 4 FF. Not to call Jaison the "Godfather" by any means, but Brando sits behind a desk and doesnt exactly get his hands dirty. Jaison will find himself in the orchard soon enough.

I personally think he instinctively knew Erik was lying to them with the story that they'd be safe if they voted for Monica without telling Russel. He sniffed out a rotten deal. Had he just gone with the ultimatum Erik presented, the idol would have been flushed out, and Jaison would have been sent packing. Double whammy. So he came up with Erik as the new target and convinced the rest of the tribe that it had to be him.
