The show demands such a linear edit that power can't emerge unless it is dictated by the result of the vote. Imagine being the editor for a moment. Your first priority for each show is to include as much as possible that dictates who is voted off without giving it away. In 44 minutes, they have to show challenges, a tribal council that is never the same length depending on what goes on in it, post-immunity scrambling, etc. That's what *has* to be shown. So now you are down to maybe 10 minutes to show both tribes and anything that may explain something down the line. Sometimes it may take a few episodes to let someone emerge in an edit. Let's say Russell goes this week. Can you honestly say that his confessional dominance wasn't dictated by what he had to say? Maybe his downfall is so epic, it had to be built up over the previous weeks... That leaves little time to throw in a Brett or a Kelly or even a Dave. But if Russell goes, someone's got to take up that spot...heck it can be split over 4 other people comfortably, you know? Everyone is reading into edits so early...there is plenty of time for someone to emerge as a gameplayer that you just havent seen yet. Then again, you've seen your finalists dominate the show for a reason...noone else can match up to them. I tell you what, though... Noone is saying "Well, Russell is getting the dominant edit, so why even watch anymore?" EPMB knows what he's doing. You said a lot with what you said about Kelly, which is what you could have said about anyone else in your last long list of people who havent done anything yet...
