They just didn't have enough sp. big thumbs down to Rollins for coming across as a sore loser w/ his postgame comments. I guess he was trying to do his best Patrick Ewing imitation. I'm happy for Matsui and ARod since they've finally won a ring. but especially ARod who has taken way too much criticism in this town. oh and if I hear one more Yankee fan/columnist talk about waiting "nine long years" for the Yankees to win a ws, I'm gonna fucking scream.

I remember gm 6 Yanks/Braves '96 when the stadium was rocking. Braves looked defeated as soon as they stepped onto the field. it didn't matter if Gibson or Koufax was pitching for the Braves, there is no way the Yankees were losing. it was the exact opposite last night. for a ws clinching game, the crowd was pretty subdued (so was the celebration for that matter). I guess part of it has to do with these celebrities and corporate fucks showing up just because its an event. most of the real Yankee fans can't afford to go these games.

I was thinking the same thing. When they got the final out you would have thought it was a regular season victory in Mid May. Maybe I was just used to the celebration at CBP last year and celebrating the end of 25 years of futility.

Phillies had a real celebration, so did the Red Sox in '04. you didn't feel the same excitement from the Yankee players or fans. very corporate-like.
