Yeah, I'm out for this season. Complete nonsense that Channing wasn't in the bottom 2 and voted out, and then Bianca leaves. I thought Shankman was
going to be a great third judge, but he's fallen in lockstep with the foolishness.

I gotta defend Phillip's lifts (just the lifts - the rest of the dance sucked): He's got a typical tap dancer's physique - long and lean.
Channing's a heffer. She got more meat on one leg than Phil's got in his entire body. I'm surprised he didn't dislocate his spinal chord
lifting that massive weight around so many times.
You would think the choreographers would take these things into consideration when putting together a routine. |

It looked like Channing has really slimmed down since the auditions. At least she looked slim to me last night.

I said I wouldn't complain, but unconvincing gay-straight kissing has brought me out of the closet, so to speak. Kissing's been overused in this
franchise and I never considered it proper choreography anyway. That, plus the fact they tried to play it up during the judging, despite Jakob's obvious
gaiety.

This is actually turning into a really great season, for me. Some of the underdogs did really well tonight, while some of the "champeens" did pretty
horribly. Adam is truly a great judge. He is unafraid to speak his mind, to do it in a loving AND constructive manner, and to take on the choreography (wow
on his refusal to ass kiss, though Melanie looked like she was gonna spit on him from her place in the audience... even though he was dead on).
Noelle/Russell - This was just a really odd routine. It didn't work on so many levels; but it wasn't the choreography that bothered me... it was the dancing. Noelle was bland (and should have gone home). She tried, God love her, but never really committed. The best moment was the very end... it was an exciting finish to a dull routine. Ashleigh/Jakob- This one was quite lovely for most of the time, but the criticism was well-deserved. Jakob focused on being lovely but not on control. For two weeks, he just has not really connected with the audience NOR the spirit of the dance, IMO. He reminds me of Nigel's pervy pleasure from last season (the number two female of the season will be your last clue). He has the moves down, but something does not jibe. It was lovely but hollow. Bianca/Victor - This had to be the dullest dance of the night... where it should have been one of the most exciting. First off, WTF Tyce? IT is a piece about old-time religion, and you have poor Victor doing lovely little spins and balletic moves? TOTALLY out of place. Victor does not get off the hook, however. Like Jakob, he had lovely moves but no real commitment or passion. Bianca NEARLY pulled it off, and should not have gone home IMO. I am glad Victor stayed because he is adorable and much less annoying than Pill-lip. Still, he just completely missed the performance element of it. That said, I agree with Adam... the routine was not really about dance. Somebody should have called out Tyce for that. Worst choreography of the night, by far. Mollee/Nathan - Mollee was beautiful while dancing, but her costume was slightly embarrassing to watch once she ended the dance. She looked so odd, like a ten-year-old dressed up to be a fantasy call girl. Ick, ick, ick. That said, this was my third favorite routine of the night. It was expertly choreographed, and Nathan's precision just took my breath away. The way he stayed on center AND stopped on a dime... WOW. He is my favorite male at this point, along with a surprise addition to be mentioned later. Mollee did really well at following Nathan's lead, so she deserves props... but it was Nathan's dance all the way. Channing/Pill-lip - Ugh. AGAIN I say it. Like so many people's favorite last year, this dude needs to cut the cheesy grin. Well. It HAS been cut. Thank God. His dance has been artifical and cheesy, like Evan last year but without the charm. Channing was just completely non-distinct. I barely even remember the dance except that I remember it being completely lacking in passion, and forced to the extreme. Karen/Kevin - Karen continues to be amazing, to me. She hit hip hop moves I really would not have expected her to hit. She had the attitude down, knew it was HER dance, and just completely owned. Kevin was good, but not remarkable. Drew, I still don't get why you thought he would be the hated one this year. He is far less annoying than Pill or Ryan. True, he is more serviceable than amazing, but he was good. Karen was just WOW. I would love to see her win this. Kathryn/Legacy - Yes, B-Boy moves were mixed in here; but the judges were totally right about Legacy's growth. Watch this again if you really think this did not show growth and style beyond his element. His leg and toe form was outstanding, and completely out of the realm of what he does as a B-Boy. His stature was high and proud much of the time, where his B-Boy moves are generally low and spiral in nature. He also knew when to move and when to hold a pose: much more painterly than would be expected. Also, his partnering? Just WOW. Breakers do not partner. They work together, but do not partner. I ADORED the ending of the dance, as well as the part where he jumped into Kathryn's arms. THAT is what we miss from most of the B-Boys on this show: TOTAL commitment. He also really seemed to connect with the feel and the emotion of the oice, which even the best B-Boys in the past struggled with. He actually had me in $*!!+. And K was right up there with him. She really helped him along, and the trust level between them was astonishing. GORGEOUS choreography. Legacy is now right up there with Nathan for me. Kathryn is my number 3 girl. Pauline/ Peter - This was another case of not committing 100%, no matter what the judges said. Yes, the moving backdrop was really distracting (the Emperor's clothes, so to speak); but the dancers did not seem to buy in, particularly Peter; and they were dancing in two completely different universes: Pauline was a bit funky, a bit chaotic (like the painting more than Peter), while PEter was just kinda jerky and stiff. IT did not work for me AT ALL, and I am a huge Wade Robson fan. Of the two, Pauline was MUCH stronger; but neither jumped into that swirly, abstract-ish, starry scenario very well. Wad also did one o fhis least memorable routines. Ellenore/Ryan- This was an amazing Argentine Tango. Ellenore just blew me away with her lines, precision, holds. Wow. She looked as if she had been dancing Tango for a very long time. I actually NEVER noticed the wardrobe malfunction. Maybe that is me being an airhead; but it is also due to the grace and passion I saw exuding from Ellenore. Ryan did wonderfully on the lifts, and is a good dancer (though I kinda despise him), so I am glad for him; but Ellenore, who was less at home with this dance, once AGAIN showed how amazing she is. She and Karen are the women of note, for me. Individual Rankings: #1: Karen, Ellenore, Nathan tie #2: Legacy #3: Kathryn #4: Ryan #5: Mollee #6: Kevin #7: Jakob #8: Pauline #9 Ashleigh #10: Russell #11 Bianca (her solo was better than Noelle's) #12: Peter #13 Channing #14: Victor #15 Noelle #16: Pill

I really don't see how anyone can say Bianca's tap solo was better than Noelle's dance solo. Tappers are at a disadvantage, since the bulk of
their talent is conveyed in their feet, where other styles employ the entirety of the body. The only way a tap solo beats out any other dance solo is if the
other solo just plain blows - and Noelle's was very good, particularly for someone with a knee injury. Bianca had been in the bottom two weeks in a row,
so her departure was in the cards. Yeah, I liked her, but she (like every other tapper) needed to show she could move more than just her feet with competence.
She didn't.

I actually thought she put a lot into the routine, and showed more charisma by a mile than Noelle. Noelle... well I can't really remember anything about
her solo at all.

Hate the tappers this year. Glad they're getting auf'd. Could never win anyhow. Sandra is still my favorite tapper.
Kathryn finalized the "Jeanine" demographic last night. Girl-next-door contemporary sweatheart. It worked out for Jeanine, surprisingly. Karen brings back the sex bomb, which is nice after not really having one since Season 2's Natalie. Japanese-speaking Lockerina for the win! |

He also was the weakest of the hip-hop trio the night before. Those poor performances, combined with the fucking hair bun made me hate him. Last night, he redeemed himself a bit and delivered a solid performance (albeit in his specialty). If he continues to redeem himself, my hate will wane. It's already begun to do so. I'd have moved off of my hate of Ade, too, if he didn't suck such a high percentage of the time. Other than his disco routine and the cancercancercancer dance, I didn't like a single thing Ade did all season. I hope I like more of what Kevin does. And I hope he never brings back the bun. |

The show should ditch Tyce already. I thought he had some not horrible routines last season (and several dreadful ones like Vitolio's broadway and the cancercancercancer dance), but most of the times he's just plain shitty. The choreography this week was just laughable. Actually I don't like broadway in general on this show. If they have to have it, they should make it like 2-3 routines per season max. We do NOT need one every week. My likability rankings: Love:

I find Kevin a much better dancer than Pill or Peter, and less annoying than Ryan. So he would come just after Russell on an overall list. I did not find him
bad last week, just not extremely memorable.
