I've only watched the first ten minutes but so far V is legendary.
Remember, V ? And for some reason Juliet is looking hot to me. That never happened on Lost. |

The movie wasn't even successful! I have issues with the word "legendary" being applied to Firefly. I just don't think it did enough to qualify and it's far too early to assign such a show. But before you ask, I am not sure I'd make Farscape legendary even though it's done the exact same thing that Firefly did and lasted three years longer, also got comics, and is supposedly getting webisodes. Legendary Sci Fi (YMMV):
Patrick Stewart (TNG)
Sigourney Weaver (Alien)
Mira Firlan (Babylon 5) |

I dug it. I was surprised at how fast it moved. Yeah yeah, we bitch about things being too slow and now we're bitching about it being too fast lol. I just
wonder if they can keep up this pace. I mean, it seems like they almost went through the whole original miniseries in the first ep. THough I like the
suggestion someone made that they want to get through the miniseries part of the story and get on to original stories.
I really liked the Vs having been on Earth for awhile. I had a feeling Erica's partner was the mole. |

Is it extremely pessimistic of me when I look at the main cast and think "Oh I bet the minorities will die in the first season, the women will be pushed
to the back, and one guy will get all the focus"
Goddammit Heroes, I can't enjoy new Sci Fi anymore without thinking about how it's going to go to shit now. |

I liked it a lot!
I wish Flash Forward had been on this level and then I could've kept on watching it. I'm definitely in for the four November shows, and if it stays good I'll be in all season (assuming they actually make a whole season....). Favorite parts of V: <3 The boy being interviewed who was annoyed at his friend making an Independence Day reference because the movie was a rip-off of others (just loved the random intensity of it) <3 Finding out ASAP that blonde FBI guy was a bad alien. I figured as soon as they mentioned "mole" that it'd probably be him (didn't know he was an alien though), and if it was a show as bad as say Flash Forward, they'd drag the "suspense" out episode after episode when the whole time you already know who it is. So kudos to the writers for doing it right away and surprising me with the fastness of the reveal. OK embarrassing admission: Me and my friend (who both watch Lost) must've both been having brainfarts because when V started I'm all like "Oh my gosh, that woman looks so much like Penny!" And my friend's all like "Wow she really does! They could be sisters!" And I'm all like "They probably are they look so much alike!" And she's like "Yeah!" And I spend about the next few minutes just having this weird confused feeling like my gosh she looks so familiar and like her but it's obviously not her. Then all the sudden my friend goes "Wait a minute - that's the doctor from Lost!" We both paused for about 5 seconds looking at each other then just busted out laughing at what brainfarts we had just been having. In our defense we just had had FF on our minds because she still watches it and she was saying something about it right before the show started, and so I guess we just had Penny on our minds. But still. :p |

I miss Jane Badler. Even Lydia Chadwick... and their Dynasty-esque catfights.
I will never, ever miss Marc Singer and his pop collars and action-hop poses though. Blair Tefkin FTW!!!1!! |

I liked it a lot... I thought it moved very well and I like how they tied the police story into the plot right away. The preview looks good too.

I'll post here in the official OSTS thread that I approve. Doing a remake is risky....but they pulled it off. So far, anyway.

I liked it alot. I will enjoy all 13 episodes including the 5 unaired ones on the complete series DVD next summer.
Off topic - In Firefly's defense, it's one of the top selling tv dvd of all time. |

oh shit I can hear the republican conservatives now, comparing the democrats and universal health care to this in some demonic fashion It didn't take long.

I think any conservative who finds joy in this series is seriously missing the point. It was stated that the Visitors have been trying to destroy the Earth covertly by starting unnecessary wars, promoting religious extremism and causing economic destruction. Basically, they spent the last decade running the GOP. With their public face, they are trying to project a positive image. Things like hope and peace and universal health care. Appealing things, ya know.
