I just bought an Allison Iraheta CD! It is a compilation of Allison's ten studio tracks from AI Season 8 (I Can't Make You Love Me, etc). All the songs
are keepers, even the two or so that I wasn't wild about when she did them on the show. Even if Idol Management didn't want to risk competing with the
sales of the few singers this year who will release regular CDs by putting this into stores, it is utterly moronic that they didn't press 50,000 or so and
make them available to buy during the summer tour. They would have sold like crazy. And if they has been priced at $20 apiece that's a million bucks made
for minimal extra investment. Even now there's many people who still can't download this stuff, and some people do like to physically own a CD. As it
stands now people go to tours and have NO music to buy at the show, just T-shirts, an overpriced tour booklet and ONE photo of each singer.
I decided to turn it into a "real" CD by putting it in a case, listing the songs on the back & giving it a great front cover, printed from many pages back in this thread (where it was accompanied by the entirely appropriate caption "this picture makes me feel things I shouldn't about a 16 year old girl"). The stupidity of Idol management when it comes to artistic matters can be hard to take, but we're kind of used to it by now. But their equal stupidity when it comes to missed chances to make money is harder to understand. |

Wow so they actually paid someone to make a decent cover for an Idol for once?
Allison's cover is really, really nice. It looks way more put together than Kris' slapped together, plain jane (or john) cover and a lot nicer than Adam's rather out there cover. It's actually edgy and fierce looking. Funnily enough their covers actually suit the image they kind of have. |

The tracklist makes me excited. Nice, quirky titles.
Max Martin, Howard Benson, Pink, Kevin R. & David Hodges are all great at what they do. Love a lot of these guys past work and I'm sure they gave Allison some quality tracks. Now all I need is song clips. |

I don't care for Dilana's voice at ALL but I can imagine Allison's vocals killing it! Miles better than generic "Friday.."
