I didn't pay for my MacBook, so that's a no-brainer.

I've never had any battery issues with mine. Most of the issues with ipods arise from retards who end up dropping theirs on the ground five times a day and
then wonder why it ends up not working.

Yes, I am. I've got a E1505. My complaints are that it's developed a pair of lines down the screen when I don't have it attached to a monitor, but I think this was due to me knocking over a martini into the keyboard last summer. The fact that the machine survived that ordeal however makes me love Dell everso much. Didn't lose a shred of data. (True story: when I took it into my repair guy, he asked how dry the martini was. I thought he was joking. He wasn't -- apparently vermouth really messes with electronics, whereas gin doesn't. Fortunately, I make mine extremely dry.) Anyhow, I also love the Dell forums. They allow dissent there. Virtually any issue you have can be dealt with prior to calling customer service, which frankly can be a massive pain. If I were to buy a new PC, I'd go with Dell again. |

My friend had a Dell. No software worked correctly with it, their tech support staff did not speak English during the call, and the motherboard burnt out after
2 months.
He bought an HP computer after that and couldn't be happier. I will never purchase a Dell. |

I was debating on 7 but I think the best thing to do is wait and see if it's so negatively hated like Vista.

Anyone having compatibility issues with Windows 7? Also, it seems like many of you love Dell, I'm probably going to go with them but it breaks my Scottish
heart when it appears on the surface that I can get more computer if I buy an HP.

7 is not better than Vista and XP. Since my father bought my laptop last April, I like Vista and the graphics is way better and clear screen quality.

Odd that this thread should pop up -- I'm getting ready to order a Dell XPS laptop, the 16. It looks to me that Dell still gives the most bang for the buck
although I don't recall looking specifically at HP. I know I looked at Vaio and anything that has a backlit keyboard and concluded that Dell still wins.
I just like how you can customize to get as more or less expensive as you need. If you're interested in a XPS 13, they've got a 25% off coupon operational right now. That's the best incentive Dell ever releases. http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/cheapster/dell/ Over the summer I ordered a Studio 15 and loved it but had to return it because of a flickering screen, and decided to wait until 7 issued. That line's cheaper than the XPS and missing just a few bells & whistles from the XPS's so you'd be fine going that route. |

My laptop and desktop are Dell, never had any problems. There are three other Dells in the family and they also run like a champ.
