I have been sick for 6 days and have not been able to rewatch or do ratings for this week. Sorry about this.

LOL Blake, that shit is definitely true. Good luck Phoenix.
On a similar note, my boyfriend hates Survivor and thinks it's fake, rigged, etc. and has never seen any of it besides Borneo (like most others), but we watched Episode 6 together and he didn't think it was all that horrible. This week he didn't watch it but I did obviously and I explained to him the Edgic guidelines and the rating system, and told him about Kelly's edit -- and I said, "Kelly was only in two quick scenes, one was negative, one was positive. So even though she's only a 1 in visibility, could she still be mixed?" He agreed yes. My boy is extremely smart, methodical, analytical, etc. and he's a decorated Navy veteran so I trust his opinion. So if a BEYOND casual viewer could have this explained to them and agree that Kelly deserves an UTRM1, she should get it. Please please please. Think outside the box! |

I went with neutral for Kelly because I didn't remember a thing she did (not even her confessional). I didn't think her confessional was all that N and
I don't think swinging a wheel and looking happy deserves a full blown P (or else I would have given Dave tone for having fun at the wheel too). I would
have given her an INV, but she got a confessional, so I gave her UTR1.

Thank you Blake for explaining your reasons, and I can understand them. The way I saw it, the confessional was N and the boat scene was P. They didn't have
to show her doing that, they could have easily shown Shambo doing something or a confessional from someone else about the reward, not UTR character Kelly. It
was included in there for a reason, just like her confessional. 2 scenes total. 1 N, 1 P. Equals out to M for me.

those women are trying to get Shan into their Alliance but she remains on the outside because she hmore relates to them Same way that Twila did. We can
probably expect her to do equally well and for at least one of the Galu gals to be burned over Mick and Eric

BlakeB717 wrote: I noted that scene also and thought it was a good sign back then. Since, I've come to realize that there's another, strong possibility: Mick will do nothing about it. Even if we think he had evidence that RussHell couldn't be trusted, he still stayed tight with him. There's a saying that, if you don't protest, you agree. So, to be mean, I'd say that instead of "I'm watching you, RussHole" his words would more likely have been: "You're right, master" !!!!! |

Rankings and my winner pick (gulp) | ||

Okay. First the "easy" part, my rankings. Which weren't easy as I didn't get to watch again since Friday night, and I believe I'm not
going to agree on a few fronts, particularly rating on a few players and tone on some. Oh well, it's my dollar for this post.
Liz - MORN4 - She didn't play the game well enough and only talked the talk at TC. She was an okay choice. However, she was an even choice per the viewers with... Jasion - OTTN3 - He's a one note failure at this point, no depth. He's the reason Foa Foa is down and out the way the edit goes. He's what Russell needs to overcome, that dead spirit. I get votes for MOR, but this is OTT, no depth, no holding, you see he doesn't deserve to stay, and the others simply chose another to go instead. Mick - MOR3 - I'm amazed that he's had as much visibility as he has - he's like Earl, whose numbers in V never added up to me with Dreamz and Yau-Man always overshadowing him. Natalie - MORM3 - She's lazy, unhelping, clear reinforced negative SPV. She's playing Laura perfectly, playing the game, clear positive SPV. That's Mixed. She's whatever Russell calls her, and in this ep it was everything. Russell - CPM5 - The editors have brought us to a brilliant moment, making you root for someone you clearly don't like. They always include the downright nasty disrespect Russell gives everyone, but forces you to admit your admiration of his spirit and fight. He said what he said when Foa is truly dead. Since I think they all make the endgame, he called a win when no one else would, and the viewers now have a sense it might happen, and want to see it. Mixed Tone, and CP to me. Brett - INV - Move along. Dave - MORN3 - I debated an N but he just irritated me here. I didn't see a reason for CP. Erik - MOR3 - Maybe a 4? I wasn't sure about the V number but he talked a bit about setting up the leader and how they intended to use her. Kelly - UTR1 - I think she had a confessional. I'm not 100% on that. Laura - CP4 - I couldn't really give Tone. Officially. But fans know she's duped, that Russell fooled her, outplayed her, and I probably should've given her an N. No one reacts favorably to someone so thoroughly refuted as her trust in Russell. Monica - MORN3 - Snarky again. There's a pox on this group And it does include... Shambo - OTTN4 - Dave told her to stop talking, and...she...wouldn't. Worse, she doesn't comment or provide insight about her position. Bad enough she doesn't refute that she feels like a puppet leader. But we also don't hear about her fears, goals, not much. It is clear the setup is to see Galu as powerful, but a tribe with people you don't want to see win. (Raro) And the down and out Foas became the 4 who beat the 8. (Aitu) This time, though, It won't be Ozzy vs. Yul. It'll be Mick, with Natalie or Shambo getting more votes, or outlasting Russell. So before the merge, I find myself changing my mind. Cautiously, but I have to swing to me. Numbers wise, strictly, it's Mick, Shambo or Jaison. Content wise, Jaison's felt wrong for a while, and now, I have to lump Shambo the same way. To be a big character and a winner, I wouldn't buy the lack of awareness she showed here. If she wins, I will be upset I let my gut change my mind here, but for winner, I voted Mick. With the merge coming, I have to stick with it. If anyone else won, beyond Mick and Shambo, I will be flabbergasted. Michael |

scepticA wrote:Keep in mind, if Jaison wanting to quit came up at the final tribal council, then they'd have to explain why. I recall that in S13 some of us thought it was too obvious that Yul wins for him to win because of all the focus on him playing for jury votes, including Jeff making a big deal about him giving Jonathan his hat back. Yet he got asked about 'shamelessly playing the jury' by Candice, which sort of explained it. Do I think Jaison gets to the F2/F3 (whatever to face the jury) and gets asked about wanting to quit? No, not really, he's really just a bland MORN edit, and most people probably remember him wanting to quit more then anything else. But just keep in mind, there can explanations like this for some things they show in editing. |

-You missed John in the overall ratings, except he got 1.00 so that means he was INV1. -You put Erik twice in the tone averages for this episode. Hmmm: -Who voted for Natalie? Only one slot was open this week.. |
