No respect for Mike |
Lead | |
|
At the beginning of the most recent episode, during the PREVIOUSLY ON segment, Jeff says that out of respect for Russ S no one was voted off during tribal
council. But when Mike had to be removed by medical, Foa Foa still went to tribal and someone was voted off. What up with that?

Less people in the season, Foa Foa on its last legs, double eviction planned, too much rain, I think production gave them an early xmas gift on this one since
this was a first for me as well. Funny too because Probst clearly tells them 2 people are being voted out and by TC his tune has changed due to this phone
call:
MB: "Probst you botoxed MUPPET! You best fucking fix this thing NOW you dim bastard! Who told you that you're making decisions? BLOODY NOBODY!" Probst: "ok, nobody gets voted out then" -SJ™ |

Also, Mike sucked.

Foa Foa had already lost the challenge, so they had to vote someone out as well as lose Mike.

SuperJude wrote: The reason makes sense but I think it's really weird that he would make that RESPECT remark. I mean, this show has already been shot, they knew both these guys were gonna be taking out. You'd think they'd come up with something more sensible than one guy getting respect and the other guy getting bupkis. |

The real reason is prob a bloated jury and they couldn't boot 2, put one on the jury and keep one off.

Russell was totally a fan favorite and it benefitted them to give him more of a hero exit than, say, fat old junkie Mike who added nothing to the season.
All about the ratings and pleasing the mainstream audience (readL NOT us real fans). -SJ™ |

SJ: That's pretty shitty. I mean, I didn't like Mike at all, but he was just as deserving as Russell S (which is not deserving at all).
NickF: That's actually a realy good point, I hadn't even thought of that! |

The merge was to happen at 12, as it will next episode. If they had the double boot, it would've been at 11.

More importantly, the JURY was supposed to start at 12. If they had to select one jury member from the double boot based simply on which tribe cast the vote
later, the other guy's gonna be bloody pissed.

Rusty22 wrote:THIS. That respect stuff is just complete Bull. They were just looking how they could pass the news without saying something like "Russell you Screwed our planning, you asshole!" Respect- they maybe had it for Russell... but that's not the reason why they didn't scrap those TC... It's sheer hypocricy. |

Mike was a waste of space.

Yeah I can't say I believe anything they put out there Production wise. "Out of respect" means simply that they came upon an easier solution: run
2 more challenges, then merge.
Mike truly was worthless. I still can't figure how being from NY supposedly made him tough. What, his veins were tougher from all those years of shooting heroin? Please stop casting fat old guys like Mike and Papa Smurf, just a disgusting fucking waste and nobody wants to watch that shit. -SJ™ |

SPunKeeMonKee wrote: No, he didn't. He chose pillows and blankets over a tarp. He couldn't start a fire and when Dave wanted him to ask him too, he was too much of a prick to ask him. What exactly did he do as leader to make sure the tribe won? Shambo is now the leader and they won the last two challenges. You gonna tell me she's responsible for 100% of their wins? |

oh ehm gee |

gwu12crh wrote:So...they could've instead just started the jury at F10. But of course, 9 person juries with the potential for a three way tie are always a good thing |

cottosive wrote:That choice didn't really affect their challenge performance, did it? And I honestly don't care if he acted like a prick to Dave, he still had way more to offer his tribe compared to Mike. Russ did plenty as a leader. He motivated everyone, united his tribe, always had a strategy for each challenge and he did this all while being respected. Why do you think the majority of his tribe felt awful about him going? He played a huge role in their success and took care of them back at camp. It's precisely why Foa Foa sucked so much, they had no direction and Mick just shirked his responsibility because he wanted to play as an individual. And re: Shambo and Galu's recent challenge wins, I'm not sure if you can give her credit because Foa Foa was pretty much decimated already & Galu had the momentum. She did as well as she could though. |
