Heh. I finally got to watch this ep. Tapegate.
I can see a Congressional Hearing in the near future. Kalyn sitting in the chair in front of the microphone and the Senate Committee. The Issue: Double Sided Tape use and Sticky Boobs in Modeling. Asked by St. Louis Congressman William Clay whether she could assure fashion fans she had modeled "with honesty and integrity" Kalyn: "I'm not going to go into the past or talk about my past. I'm here to make a positive influence on this." And... Matar love. I think she is classy, beautiful and has a wonderful disposition. I prefer her over all of the others.I so agree. Plus the way she totally talks through her nose like she does (how does she do that?) What's not to love? |

Whether or not the rule is/was stupid, it's still a rule. If Kalyn put the tape back on after she was told it's a no-no, then the rule was broken and
Katie had every reason to bitch.

Do we know for sure if Kalyn kept the tape on or put it back on after being told to remove it, other than Katie saying so?
Could it be that Katie is getting anxious because she's with Christopher who has been in the bottom two for the last 10 weeks, realizes she won't be going to Bryant Park, and she's jealous of Kalyn? Carol-Hannah/Lisa FTW!!! ;) |

Yeah, not sure. That's what was never really determined. If she did, then Katie is right. If not, then Katie is a jealous hag. Well many consider her a
jealous hag either way. :)

Do you think technical skill is unimportant in a competition like this? this isn't a patternmaker or tailoring contest. the technical component should be given significantly less weight than the design aspect. |

You can take it to the bank that much of her irritation lies in the fact that she's with Christopher, and odds are against him making it to Bryant Park. A
major point about this is that, whether tape was used or not, Irina didn't win the challenge, and Chris's performance would still land him in the
bottom.
Another thought: Is it possible that Katy is making a stink in hopes that she can get Kalyn booted from the competition, and improving her chances to walk in the finals? |

I think all of that is definitely plausible.

However, as Seaguy says, it IS against the rules so it's wrong if she violated them. My opinion that it's a stupid rule (since use of double-sided tape actually occurs in the real world, and not simply to "cover fuckups") is a separate issue. |

I don't think your belt example is an effective argument, Drew. By definition, belts are for adjusting the waistline on the fly, and they are part of the
garment. That shouldn't give license to designers to get sloppy elsewhere and rely on tape or whatever to hide their flaws. I think there needs to be a
line where the designers have to prove their technical prowess without relying on gimmicks to shore up their weaknesses.
I suppose we could go back and forth on this, but what it really comes down to is that I don't accept the "they're gonna get away with it anyway, so let 'em" argument. Irina's been with Kalyn for almost the entire competition - she really shouldn't have any difficulty tailoring the top of the dress to fit her rack effectively. |

It cuts to a shot of the right side of Kayln in the dress with Katie peering at Kayln's chest. It looks like she still has tape on her right boob. Then again...editing. Was that shot from before or after she was told to take it off? eta...I agree with blockhose...the dress is basically designed for Kaylen's body, Irina has been working with her most of the show...she should be able to fit her properly.

Are we really doing this? Tapegate. It's not as if it matters anymore. The season is over and done and a winner was chosen. OK, I'll play. Katie needs
to STFU! It's not HER place to enforce the rules. The guy came in and told Kalyn to ditch the tape. She said she did. Case closed. If the PR producers
wanted to make sure she took it off it's on them to check, not Katie. She's bitching about something that became irrelevant when the episode ended.

Katelyn is about to snap. Lol. Her face when Matar was going off about Irina maybe choosing her, and then Katie bringing up Tapegate again, she looks like
she's gonna cut a bitch.

Even more than Koji I think. She deserves to walk at Bryant Park |

This really proves what a stupid show this is. There has been no suspense whatsoever in the last few episodes, and the best models didnt' make it to the
final three. Really, Lisa? Matar and Katie were two of the best. With Tanisha, they would have made an unbelievable top three.
