I don't care if anyone calls me a frau for posting this... they are ORGASMIC. I don't cook or bake usually, but this was a crowd pleaser :) I froze
two batches before I served them.

I might be the only person alive who doesn't like pumpkin flavored stuff. Other than the pumpkin, they must be great!
I dont' want a Starbucks pumpkin latte or whatever, either. |

the only thing other than pumpkin pie that I like is pumkin ravioli in a brown butter sauce, but any winter squash would do

I just made this delish soup even the non-est frau can make. There are lots of butternut squash/ apple soup recipes but making it with pears is even sweeter.
I does need a day or two plan ahead because the pears should be ripe.

ooo, I do remember another dish I liked
back in my university days, we used to have potluck thanksgiving and christmas dinners for those who didn't go home for the holidays, and I always tried out something I'd never made before. One year is was a pumpkin soup baked in a sugar pumpkin (pumpkin filled with chicken broth, gruyere cheese and some seasonings baked until the pumpkin was cooked through - that was really good one problem - the pumpkin can spring a leak, as I found out later in succeeding attempts to recreate that success, resulting in the most horrendous mess |

I like all things pumpkin! I even feed a scoop of canned pumpkin (the plain kind) to my cats each night with their dinner.

that's supposed to keep dogs from eating their poop - dunno what it does for cats
maybe it keeps dogs from eating their poop? |

I don't have a dog anymore so I dunno. I did feed it to my dog and the fiber made her poop more solid. I had tried tons of brands of food and she was a bit
of a squishy pooper which made me wonder if that was healthy. The vet suggested pumpkin and it worked and she loved it. Cleaning up dog poop is never a
particularly enjoyable task and the squishy kinda is more of a drag. I had no reason for giving it to the cats also, but they like it and it is full of good
fiber and nutrients so why not. It is also very cheap compared to the treat of wet cat food. It does make their poop take a bit of turn towards the orange
hues, but not much. I did find them both licking the pumpkin I have not yet carved.
