It's that time of decade again, when I traditionally bring you the thread for mindlessly and half-seriously tossing out your favorite songs of the last ten
years. This is the fourth such thread; board veterans will remember my previous threads "Your 90s Mix CD", "Your 80s Soundtrack", and
"Your 70s Songs You Waited Until They Played on the Radio and Then Held a Tape Recorder to the Speaker". This decade's thread is especially
poignant for me as it is my last: I'm about to turn thirty and will henceforth be too old to enjoy popular music of any kind (until I reach a midlife
crisis and start listening to new stuff again in a pathetic effort to identify with my kids).
This is not a thread about the "best" songs, simply your favorites, lame as they might be. As always, your selections are limited to the storage capacity of the medium of the time, which is currently a 4GB i.Pod Shuffle. And of course the rules are that the song must have actually been released or recorded for the first time between 2000 and 2009 and no covers are allowed. I pared mine down to a nice solid 17 with the only blatant omission being Green Day from whose catalog I could not choose just one track.
