Ha, I didn't think of that...
Nevermind, that's just a *generic* example/website...not where *I'M* going to live...I'm not even from Massachusetts. Eh? |

One of the benefits of living in a 395 sq. ft studio is that I have yet to get a bill over $40 for utilities this year.

Kathy Fan 2 wrote:$150-$200 a month??? For an apartment? Where the hell do you live the north pole? She had to be making that shit up. I <3 living in a building where utilities are included in the rent. Makes things so much easier. |

Ooh that looks like a nice place though. I like the layout and having a washer/dryer in your apartment is awesome. I would kill for that. Grats on your new
place.

I live somewhat near Boston Massachusetts. We get many inches/sometimes feet of snow. However there is no "gas" bill in this complex, everything is
electric. So 'electric' includes the heat, cooking, lights, etc. $150 a month when it's anywhere from -20F to 30F outside seems relatively good,
and that's for people who are home relatively often. I'm home for nights about 2 nights of the week, so it (hopefully) is significantly less for me.
I really tried to research the coil/airblown insulation heating before signing my lease. I hope I'm not making a big mistake. The NStar electric bill transfers into my name starting Dec 1st upon my move-in date. :\ |

My office is a loft in an old brick mill ... it's a pretty cool space. [forced ac and heat ... dries out my eyeballs] |

Just be really conscientious about your electricity use. Always remember to turn the heat way down at night when you go to sleep and when you are at work.

How do you turn down the heat without kicking into the AC? No, I'm serious. 67-70 must turn on the heat, but aren't most AC's 62-65?

Oh dear. Why must the gaes all be such technological tards?
We'll just put this in terms you can understand sweetie. There is a magical little man who lives in the thermostat and he will do a jolly little dance to make sure the air is the right temperature. |

get a programmable thermostat
however, I do have to switch from cooling to heating |

You want to turn it down when you are not there, but don't let it get too cold because it will take too long to get it back to a comfortable temp when you
come home. I would invest in a good space heater and a humidifier for max comfort.
