Wow the announcers just said Venus wasn't picked for the Fed Cup team. Either she declined or Mary Jo is a) retarded or b) trying to reward those who got
them to that point. If it's option b, I think that's at least fair but you would have a guaranteed doubles win, you wouldn't even have to play
Venus in singles. I like that she picked Melanie but she fricking SUCKS on clay, which is what the final will be on.

She declined because of her injury.
It's official. Safina is out of the YEC. Zvonareva will replace her. Will be difficult for her to make the semis unless she wins both her matches in straight sets. |

Serena Williams def. Venus Williams 5-7 6-4 7-6 (4) and saves a match point.at 5-6 on a Serena serve. So now the chances of Venus making the semis seem slim
but it can still happen in she defeats Sveta in straight sets tomorrow and Lena looses both to Serena and Kuzzy.
OOP tomorrow. 1. Vera Zvonareva vs. Caroline Wozniacki 2. Serena Williams vs. Elena Dementieva 3. Svetlana Kuznetsova vs. Venus Williams I hope when the men play their year end championships at the end of this month it comes out as exciting as this one. =D ..... Too bad I have school tomorrow. Looks like I'll be watching the re rus at 8 o clock tomorrow on TC. |

Oh man, you can always expect drama from Zvonareva. She looses the first set against Caroline 6-0. Leaves the court in +*%%$. In the second set with Caro
leading 3-2 she gets a bloody nose. Leaves in +*%%$ gets a medical timeout and is now playing with a napkin hanging out of her nose.
 . Aww man. I also love how Davenport is going on about how
unusual it is to play a tennis match with a bloody nose especially since that's where you do your breathing. Well it looks like Wozzy is going to run away
with this and I have to go to class. Good luck Lena!

Yay Elena's ass is being handed to her, 6-2, 2-1 (Elena just broke though
 ) If Serena can get her in straights, and then Venus can get Svety in
straights. Then the scenerio is tomorrow if Svety wins, it brings up a three way tie, and the 1st tiebreaker is sets won and then games won, in which Venus
would have the advantage.

Wow that was a good end to the second set. That last game was hearbreaking though, Elena just fell apart. I do LOVE her scream though when she botches a shot,
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYAHHHHHERRRRGAH! Her mom is also so c00t, especially when she gets nervous.

Hooray for Serena ending the year as #1 due to Safina pulling out <3333.
Also, everytime I look at the statistics for the doubles at Doha, it makes me lmao. Everyone else has played a normal amount of tournaments for the year, but meanwhile Serena and Venus only have played 5 (4 of which they won, including 3 Grand Slams) and they're ranked #2 . If they took Doubles more
seriously they could DOMINATE more than they do already.

Yayayay Venus got her. Kuzzy has never made it past RR play in 5 tries and is 2-12 overall, eek. I am counting on her tomorrow to beat Elena and let Venus
through. I was resigned to the fact that Venus was out but with Elena playing crappy against Serena and Kuzzy putting up a huge fight against both, I say
she's the favorite. Serena winning in straights tonight with lob-sided game totals, ensures Venus owns any tiebreakers regardless of tomorrow. I usually
don't think Serena and Venus rig their matches (esp in elimination ones) but I think the plan was for it to go three with Serena winning in close scores so
Venus could pick up another set as well as games.

She just fell apart in that match and I think she may not get in, unless Aggie beats Vika. That would really suck after everything she's
done this week. Jelena is in the semis and TBH she doesn't deserve it. She got her ass handed to her by Vika and lucked out by playing an injured Dinara
and Caroline. I want her in the semis but I'm not sure if she'll even be on form. She has by far played the best of that group!
Right now Kuzzy is leading 5-2, so :crossesfingers. It's looking good for Venus to get through, when 2 days ago she was all but eliminated. |

Sorry EdinLast's year's Doha points went away last week, so Venus was never going to go lower than she is now. She's rightfully ahead of Azerenka now I believe but probably needs to win to go any higher than that. |

That was an interesting day. Both sisters got into the final, which I knew what happened. I didn't think the JJ/VS match would be close but Venus struggled
the entire 1st and 3rd set. She killed it in the 2nd set but she is hella lucky to have gotten through that third set. JJ gave it to her, it was lousy and
sloppy but somehow shes still in the final.
Serena won it 6-4, 0-1 retired by Caro. I figured that might happen but really that match shouldn't have been close and Serena lost serve 4 times, which was unnecessary. My guess is she didn't wanna push it with her doubles match being right afterwords. Doubles time! |
