I finally put my finger on what bothered me the most about this as well. He is trying too hard to be that Bill Kaulitz guy. You know he admires him big time, and in fact he kind of looks like him in this cover. Im not being facetious either when I say this cover screams gender identity issues to me, because he represents himself as so many different things, says he doesn't cross dress, is basically the man in his relationships in the media, yet this is obviously representative of being feminine and soft. I don't know who this guy is anymore. |

It's a ridiculous cover and I was a fan of his voice from the second of his audition and it's not about hating any move he makes. It's just a silly cover. |

I love the cover. I have no problem with people hating the cover.. I have a problem with someone presuming to speak for every straight man in the world. BTW,
IF "glay" put it out he would look fucking ridiculous because that's not who he is... this is who adam is... I'm not sure what anyone
expected his cover to look like honestly.
Eraser, seriously, can you see straight guys buying this? I didn't think straight guys were going to buy the album in the first place hunter to be honest with you.... not in the U.S. anyway. Come the fuck on already. Adam is an openly gay man, he wears makes up... in fact he wore more makeup on tour than he has on in that cover shot. I don't know who this guy is anymore. really? because he's the same guy as this 
so I guess my confusion comes from the fact that this picture on the album is EXACTLY who Adam has always been. He loves to play around with gender stereotypes. HERE Adam talks about his inspiration for the cover
I suppose he could've "butched" it up for the cover but IMO that wouldn't be true to who Adam is. No one has to agree with me but don't ask me to agree with you either..... eta: Yesterday on Amazon the album has slipped to #14... this morning it's back up to #9 (with the cover picture now) with a green arrow indicating increased orders... so perhaps all those straight boys will order on amazong or from itunes and never have to even look at the CD cover. I guess that's what I really find funny... the idea that the actual physical CD is the ONLY way to buy this album and therefore the picture will somehow hinder it's sale.

People don't carry the whole fucking CD around with them when they go out, they rip the thing put it on their iPod (or buy it on iTunes in the first) place
and throw the CD case wherever the keep their other CD cases that they also don't carry out.
I bet Adam's talent appeals to a wide variety of demographics, including straight men, even if he would be considered a guilty pleasure for them and they hope their friends don't see the CD when they're at their house. Honestly though the argument that a flamboyant, effeminate singer won't appeal to straight men is retarded. Look at th history of rock music, in particular stuff like glam metal. Heterosexual men have historically been the demographic that rock and roll music appeals to. Gendering bending, flamboyancy etc have all been a part of rock and roll forever. Its the best way for rock musicians to push boundaries. |

I actually quite Adam's face on the cover - its deliberately extremely stylized/airbrushed, and sort of looks like
something Pierre et Gilles would have done, or 1970s-era Interview magazines. His look certainly fits with the descriptions (so far anyway) of the music that
will be contained within.
Not crazy about the tacky font, nor the cheesy desktop screensaver background, but I'm still buying his CD regardless

well... I've showed the cover to five people... four girls and one straight guy
Girl 1 - first words out of her mouth - wow.. very David Bowie meets Prince.... Girl 2 - Said she didn't see what the big deal was.. thought it was very "him" and wondered what people thought his cover would look like Girl 3 - Loved the blue hair, said Adam has a beautiful mouth and fierce eyes and said it would make people stop and see what kind of music is on the CD. Girl 4 - looks like a girl but no opinion otherwise. Now the guy was the most interesting one.... He's African American and straight as straight can be. He loved it. Said it was so OTT and in your face and everything he expected Adam to do. Said he'll be buying the CD regardless of what the cover looked like because Adam is mad talented. I had no idea he was even an American Idol fan much less an Adam fan because he rarely comes to our offices (he works across the bridge in Tampa) but today he stopped by my office to say hi and saw a picture I have of Adam that hangs on my cork board from the concert I went to.. he immediately was like "Oh you have Adam up" and then proceeded to go on and on about how taltend he thought he was... and how Adam's will be the first American Idol album he will buy..... so yeah... I'm gonna say Adam will be just fine... who is Rob Halford? |

If a random tom dick or harry was walking through like, Target, and was eyeing up the CDs and saw this in the top 10, he would look at it and be like no way. Not everyone follows him, knows of him, etc even though some may find that hard to believe. I still think he is turning off a ton of potential buyers who may not have known who he is with this. I showed it to a few guy friends at lunch this afternoon. They both basically said what the hell? One asked if it was prince lol I didnt ask them if they would buy it. Eraser, yes he looks like a tranny in some of those, but he was pretty adamant about stating he wasn't a cross dresser/tranny, he just was hanging out at the burning man thing. So I guess that makes me wonder why he represents himself as one on his cover. Maybe the real Adam is a cross dressing transexual. Which is fine. But he trys to be this and be that so much that this cover has shocked a lot of people. Except his die hard fans. Who would like anything he does. As far as the androgyny thing, he isn't that Bill kid. I think he should stop trying to be America's version of him. at some of those covers. Its sad I actually like a few of them better

Perhaps you need to recognize the difference between being a transexual and a drag queen which are TWO entirely different things and then understand the difference between those two things and androgynous. He looks like neither a tranny or a drag queen based on what I know about both groups. He does however look androgynous.. *and not like Bill from Tokio Hotel either who is very waifish looking* which is meant to blur the gender lines and something that David Bowie as well as many others have been doing for decades. Perhaps you should just accept that you don't like the cover and stop stressing over it. I mean seriously you act personally offended by it or something... you weren't sure you were buying the album in the first place so you're no worse off than you were. and no, I wouldn't have liked anything he did. I was actually REALLY concerned that he was going to "dumb it down" and play it safe on the cover and we would get some profile shot with minimal make up. I'm relieved that he did his thing... it only increases me respect for him as an artist. |

I would say straight men are generally indifferent on heterosexuality and care more about their own sex life than that of other men. It's the religious fuckwads who want to force their morals and beliefs on everyone in society that care about who's fucking who and what gender they are. These are the loud, extremely vocal and obnoxious minority that make it seem like so many straight people are anti-homosexuality. People this day in age are extremely apathetic I find, they don't care one way or the other about gays, they're more concerned about themselves than anyone else. It just protesters and belligerent fuckwads who try and lobby against gay rights etc that make it seem like people are so adamantly opposed to gays. Hetero men and other demographics have enjoyed music by gays for years and not given much thought to the fact that a singer whose music they enjoy fucks people in the ass sometimes. Queen is the most obviously example I can think of, they remain one of the most popular rock groups of all time and were beloved by heterosexual men as well as many others. Freddie being homo and the band being very flamboyant and gender bending at times really didn't affect people who enjoyed their music. Only a fucking moron (see retarded religious former Mates) would stop listening to an artist or not start listening to one they could potentially enjoy because they're gay or because they push boundaries in regards to gender and being totally out there. |

I'm so excited for you all to hear it!!!! awww bb... we're excited too also wrote on four songs on the album. "Strut", "Aftermath" "Broken Open" and "Down the Rabbit Hole" (iTunes bonus track) OMG can't wait to hear "Down the Rabbit Hole" Aftermath is a song he wrote with Alisan Porter and Ferras..... holy shit I'm getting fucking EXCITED!!! andjust in case people aren't clear on just how fucking EPIC this album potentially could be.. ADAM HAS AN ORIGINAL SONG WRITTEN BY MUSE!!! not a cover... but an original UNRECORDED SONG! and another one written by lady Gaga! I'm about to lose my collective shit up in here NGL
