Whether having any proof or not, if Jeff truly believes Ryan has stolen clients from him, he should just cut him off from his life completely. Isn't that a
Jeff kind of thing to do?
He keeps going on and on every episode about how losing Ryan would be losing his family and wanting a family blah, blah, blah.... I pray to God Jeff would NEVER, NEVER adopt or have any children in any way. The idea of Jeff turning a child into someone like him... cold, heartless, hurt... is just sooooooo scary. I don't know how anyone can put up with Jeff unless they're working for or with him. He drives people away. He may have fuck buddies or boyfriends but I doubt he's capable of a long-term relationship. |

Great show.
Ryan is such a sneaky little $%#@. This could wind up in court. Reminds me of the Rocco/Jeff Choderow(?) conflict in Restaurant without the gay bullshit. |

Team Jeff for me as well. Ryan just doesn't look trustworthy. And he was wearing way too much makeup. The way he argued about how Jeff treats the staff is
smarmy. I would think that after 8 years if Jenni really has a problem with it, or any of them for that matter, they would be long gone. Ryan actually never
said that it wasn't true about the whole thing with the website being redirected to his own page or that googling Jeff Lewis would take you to Brown
designs. He just said he did what he thought was right. Well, he sees Jeff's not happy with it, its been over a year, so you'd think he would have
fixed it by now, no?
I felt badly for Jeff. I think he's come a long way since this show started. I'm so on board for Season 4! |

i did not believe ryan. did like jeff's comment about understanding why ryan would be so desperate, having to pay an $11k mortgage payment, private school
for chloe and oh, his unemployed lovah....
ryan WAS getting business off of jeff's name. i mean really. there are a ton of high profile designers out there, wouldn't you want the drama of jeff? ryan bores me. he is a pretentious blech. |

factoryhurl wrote:Agreed. I completely believe Jeff and think Ryan is a real jerk in the way he has conducted himself in light of this. I feel for Jeff, because he really had the most to lose in all this -- his relationship with Ryan's family and especially Chloe. Jeff remarked in last week's episode that if only Ryan would apologize and make things right, then Jeff could move past it. I completely believe Jeff would have done so and the fact that Ryan would not come clean and just apologize is really shitty. Obviously Ryan could care less about Jeff and was just using Jeff to boost his business. Poor Chloe won't have her Uncle Jeff around anymore and that is sad, especially for Jeff. I agree with Ouchie Poo, as well, that Jeff really HAS come a LONG way since season one. He has made strides. I personally don't see anything too wrong with how he is as a boss. He's a perfectionist and likes things done his way. Well, he is the boss, so his employees should do things his way. While he is tough, you can see that he is really good to the people who fit in with his personality and the way he does things. The team he has now seem to be working well with him. |

Chloe saying in the unseen footage that she didn't want Jeff to go broke my heart. Children are a good judge of character and that little girl knows
what's up!

ryan's *sad* face looked like the cat that swallowed the canary. was it just a defense mechanism for his actions? probably. it did not help his case any from my viewpoint. he had so much makeup on, you'd have thought kevyn aucoin came back from the grave and redrew him. he came off to me as a haughty bitch trying to maintain his current lifestyle which does not fit with the reality of what is going on today. jeff has seen the writing on the wall and is adapting his business so that he continues to flip/get clients. ryan moving to santa barbara? of course he is going to try to leverage jeff's name and fame to skim business for himself. he has a much higher nut. that said, why did jeff not hire someone to give him a interwebs presence so ryan couldn't have done this to begin with? i mean, a web page and email contact at least.... |

i don't understand why jeff didn't send people snooping around ryan's in the first place? you know...'psuedo clients'. have Deb call and
ask all the right questions. i believe jeff.....but he needed solid evidence to put ryan in his place.
ryan is jealous of jeff's fame and following. sheet....zoila is more popular than ryan. |

I thought Ryan was believable............Jeff admitted he had no proof. The housing market is putrid and I think Jeff has been as desperate as Ryan-Jeff has a
slew of employees and also runs his house on one income. Without some proof I can't agree that Ryan is a liar and a thief.

I am not so quick to condemn Ryan. Being a gay man (okay not but I am sort of just without the penis) I get the strange dynamics of the gay man relationship.
You date, you do business together, you break up and still work and live near each other and our incestuous complex people in each others lives. Its PERFECT!
All the drama of a family with sex with tons other people!
I think Jeff was an idiot to not get himself a website, etc and so forth immediately when the show came out..he really is of another generation who find facebook, etc a pain. Can you see Jeff anally dealing with facebook? Jeff is a hard person to understand but he is actually incredibly loyal however paranoid. He TESTS everyone and whoever can handle it.. say Jett is a good example they make it work.. do I dig Ryan's comment that they tolerate him and say nothing because he pays them. well there is truth in that but he manages to get jobs done despite that and many of the contractors etc are people who have worked with him for years during the BOOM time so they would not have had to... it says volumes about Jeff I don't think Jeff handles such conflicts well, Ryan knows his weaknesses but he has to admit he jumped on the bandwagon first, did not "steal" business but was willing to use Jeff as a lead source... period.. but Ryan won't admit the truth either. Jeff was also right about the lifestyle etc.. these two know each other well as gay married ex husbands do.. and they can't get past that to resolve it.. emotions don't do well in mediation. |

About the proof........there are two issues here:
1) Whether Jeff has proof that Ryan actually stole business, i.e...whether actual dollars have gone to Ryan that should have gone to, or been shared, with Jeff. Jeff said he has no proof of this. and 2) Whether Jeff has proof that clients were directed to Ryan's office (they were, and there is proof via the website) and that clients had to insist on talking to Jeff to be referred to him. He mentioned two clients that said they had to insist they wanted Jeff to be involved before they were allowed to talk to Jeff. Jeff has proof of this. |

jeff should have had some sort of rudimentary site to direct inquiries if nothing else. that was just stupid. ryan using jeff's name for seach terms is
okay but not if the clients were looking for jeff to be involved.
i base my opinion on nothing except the way ryan reacted, which to me, seemed guilty. if you are not guilty, you don't act so defensive. |

Go to Ryan's website and see the evidence. He uses Jeff's and his projects as examples of HIS work

My take on the sitch was that Jeff cut Ryan into the flipping biz to keep him close. Ryan didn't see the point (or profit) of decorating together and
drifted away after the housing bubble burst. That (and the fact that it revealed he didn't care as much about Jeff as vice versa) are the real reasons for
the fight.

was Ryan being defensive or was he defending himself? it looked to me like Ryan frequently looked over in the direction of Jeff's face so to me it looked
like he made plenty of eye contact. i'll have to watch that again. i have to say, it wasn't fun to watch and made me feel a little uncomfortable.
