Only thing I enjoyed was Whoopi's Cat Show segment.
I, too, have been mulling whether or not to get a little brother or sister for my Russian Blue. So, I can relate to what Whoopi was doing in her search (although I am settled on getting another Russian Blue or possibly a Korat). It was a cute segment, until Whoopi said HER cat Oliver shat on the floor.
Knock on wood. I have never had a cat with behavioral problems like that. Never had a cat go to the bathroom anywhere else other than the litterbox. Never had a cat spray. And because I have faux suede furniture, apparently that is not something cats will claw, so I have no furniture clawing issues with my current cat. I visit friends and family with cats and/or dogs and come home with their scent on me and while my cat definitely notices, he never acts out because of it.
In sum, not all cats have bad attitudes, behave badly or are standoffish and loners. Some cats are very social and friendly like dogs and behave perfectly.

. Not all of them, Seaguy. My cat is like a dog. He runs to the door when the doorbell rings to greet visitors. He is very sociable. He
comes when called. He will even walk on a leash, but I quit taking him for walks because there are a couple of unfixed cats that roam our neighborhood lately
their scent drives my cat INSANE.
