I'm thinking that in the "LA" mindset, a woman who is a strong competitor, uses their mind, and actually looks down upon using sex as a tool for
advancement, is considered a freak.
Yet, despite casting the mindless bimbettes that the producers THINK people want to see on Survivor, they never show the same people they insist will bring in viewers. How ironic. If one were to look as Survivor as ANY sort of microcosm of the real world, they'd have to consider women to be worthless and weak. |

The women on Survivor just aren't as interesting as the men, sad but true.
However, I think that Samoa has a big chance of having a woman win. Likely to win: Jaison, Liz, Ashley, Monica or Laura. Four of the five are Female. |

Please.
Russell H, get off my screen right now. He is not interesting to watch at all. I hope he doesn't win. Need some girl power. The Micronesian girl power alliance was pretty strong and nice to watch. "The others, they are all dead to me" ~Parvati in a confessional. |

The only person (male or female) that I am even remotely rooting for to win is Liz. If she gets booted, the season has gone to Hell, IMO.

Let's see now. After tonight's episode, Liz and Nat give up on possibly targeting one of the guys and simply decide to vote for each other.
And Shambo and the girls decide to target each other, leaving the four guys to decide who goes. |

Yeah looks like a man is going to win.
I am so incredibly disappointed in Liz and annoyed with the rest of the females. |

JLK Name wrote: Yeah, but for every woman that has a decent edit, there's at least 3 or guys 4 on her season who do too. Jerri doesn't count because that was back when Survivor casted mostly interesting people. And of course I could include the obvious joke that Shambo isn't a woman *har har. It's been pointed out often, but as long as they keep recruiting LA waitresses and hairsylists fembots, this show will be all about male domination in both the game and the editing. The only person (male or female) that I am even remotely rooting for to win is Liz. If she gets booted, the season has gone to Hell, IMO. Feel free to love her, but I don't really see what she's bringing to the table that would make it so devastating if she left. Ashley is boring Huge irony here. |

How is that interesting? I dig smart chicks like Danni, Amanda (granted, terrible Jury speeches), S12 Cirie, Ami, Shii Ann... Or charismatic ones like Flicka, Sugar, Angie, Asian Michelle, both Courtney's. |

Right, that's why Australia turned into pure boredom after Jerri left, with the exception of the flood
Funny you hate the entertaining people and you find Amanda and Danni interesting? |

Australia WAS boring with Jerri in there. So, no loss after her boot whatsoever.
Danni = Had a great social strategy, very athletic, very likeable, and not to mention... very dreamy. She was also pretty smart, made the right moves and knew what to say and how to 'play' people without being a complete bitch. Amanda = Same as above, only younger and not as smart. |

There have definitely been women in the past seasons who aggressively played to win. Exile Island had Cirie and Danielle, Cook Islands had Candice and
Parvati, Fiji took a bit of a break (Cassandra seemed like a shrewd player but since we saw so little of her it's hard to tell if she was playing to win or
just playing for second), China amped it up with Amanda, Peih-Gee, and Jaime. Micronesia obviously saw a ton of aggressive female players (on the Favorites
side, at least, though Tracy gets credit too). Gabon was another break, since Sugar was aggressive but also aggressively playing for second (which I
didn't think was possible), and Susie coasted by being the worker bee and winning some challenges. Tocantins gave us Debbie, Taj, and Erinn, all who
deserve some respect, and so far in Samoa it seems Liz, Natalie, Laura, and maybe even Monica are playing hard.

PrettyGoodYear1988 wrote:Unfortunately nowadays, it seems the strategic / agressive female players are always seen as one step lower than the strategic / dominating male players. The only way IMO that a woman can now win is to be in the final 2/3 with only women as the other people in the finals. The decent female players always seem to get berated or demonised for playing the game, whereas the males usually don't and are generally praised for that sort of thing. The male is also always seen as the main component in the alliances, with the females apparently riding their coat tails. Going to the finals with a male seems to be an automatic loss for a woman these days, unless of course the male has played too agressively and upset a lot of people along his way, aka. Rob. If any of Ozzy, James, Erik or Jason were in the finals with Amanda / Parvati they probably would've won. |

The thing is, we haven't had any aggressive female players get all the way to the final TC against a male since when, Vanuatu?
Every female that has made it to the FTC against a male{s) since then has always been a non-entity coattail rider (Becky, Cassandra) or a complete FAILURE at the social aspect of the game (Sugar, Danielle). The reason women aren't winning is not because they are up against men and get "demonized", they aren't winning because most of the women lately (there are exceptions mind you) have sucked at the game. Simple as that. |
