Eh my parents were pretty good to me.
I could hold it against them for making me go to Catholic school K-12, but I don't have the energy to really be bothered by it. |

Both parents raised me well. My Dad was a very passive person, and my Mom was certainly the one that ran the household. Looking back, I think my Mom should
have played with me more. She would often times be busy doing the 'Mom' thing - baking, preparing dinner, making the family budget.

I am curious if anyone was raised agnostic? My dad is an atheist, my mom is super religious and I'm agnostic. I always wondered if that's the reason why. |

I was raised agnostic. my grandmother took me to church once on a family vacay and my dad was PISSED. Both parents came from pretty strict Catholic upbringings
and deemed it hypocritical.
I still have no religious beliefs. I wish.. That my parents had told me that property is everything. I'd probably own some by now. :/ |

They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra, just for you. Their idea of a good job was encouraging me to apply with the Post Office. Not exactly encouraging me to dream big. My parents were mostly great, sprinkled with instances of random rage and telling me if I don't behave I could cause my mother's cancer to come back.

My birth parents weren't very good at the parenting thing...too busy drinking and then recovering. When the state stepped in and took my siblings and
me away, I guess I was about five or six. That was pretty devastating, honestly. PRESTO!! You're a FOSTER KID!! Yay! What? I can't see mom or dad
until I "settle in" with the new family? Hey, they weren't top o' the line, but they were MINE!

Naw, Mpp...my dad died before I was able to reconnect and my mom just dropped off the grid sometime around 1988 or so.

I have no regrets about my parents. I think it was life after I left the house the f'ed me up, especially the military.
