Just an FYI - if your one of the people who have watched "Paranormal Activity" online, it's not the same version that was shown at the theaters.
It's the original version with extra "talking" scenes, and the not scary ending.

You mean the scary ending that was in the trailers? |

so maybe the "talky" ending isn't so bad.... especially in the middle of the night alone in your home

There are actually 3 different endings: The theater version, the version that's online now (it involves police), and another ending that involves slicing
of certain parts of Kate's body.

Didn't go to the theater to see it. We just finished watching the original version with the police ending and then found the new ending to compare. The
original is WAY better and fits with the movie more cohesively. The re-shot end is like a cheap fake ghost video you would watch online...comparable almost to
the old cat in closet. It's ridiculous that they reshot the ending and completely has the mark of 'studio' all over it. I guess, what I am trying
to say is that it was like watching an independent horror movie with large studio ending for the last 4 minutes. It in NO WAY fits with the 1h20 or so leading
up to it. This movie is all about understatement and gradual build of fear. The new ending screams that the studio who bought it were afraid it wouldn't be
scary enough on it's own so they throw in a bunch of formulated bullshit that doesn't fit.
If you havent watched yet, DON'T see it in the theater. |

Ugh, I watched Videodrome for the first time earlier, and I made the mistake of eating scramble eggs during the tumor explosion.

I always love watching AMC in the early morning hours during Halloween time because they show older movies like that one instead of Halloween 4 ad nauseum.

I think AMC played Videodrome lase weekend. Poor James Woods with a vagina on his stomach.
I watched Drag Me To Hell, last night, it wasn't bad. It's not amazing or anything, but it entertained me, even if the ending was ridiculously obvious. |

Drag me to hell was such a huge let down I thought it was going to be amazing because of word of mouth and reviews and I was really let down. Then again
I've never been into "gross" horror. what I did watch and really enjoy was this 80's remake of Last House on the Left called the House at
the edge of the Park including a pretty kick ass cover art. The film is just better, the plot moves along better the characterization of the antagonists are
better, and the women are some of the hottest 80's chicks ever put on screen.

Is it actually a remake of LHOTL, or is it just similar enough that it could be?

I think it's a remake they make better choices with the plot elements of Last House on the Left that I didn't think worked the first time. David Hess(the lead basterd) is in both of them and he gives an actual performance in House at the edge of the Park. |
