I was very active in this thread until the show was over. Now that my bona fides are established, so that I'm not accused of being a brainwashed hater, I will say that I find his behavior a bit unsettling as of late. I think turning the AI tour into his own personal sex show was really tacky, and although many of you lapped it up, I think it showed incredibly bad judgement. It was, after all, still a family show. Or, maybe better yet, it demonstrated an overinflated sense of entitlement - I'm the star, I can do what I want. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on the swastika j.acket, ok, maybe he really never noticed it. But his subsequent response absofuckinglutely turned me off. Making a joke about it??? If you think that was the best way to handle that very touchy situation, then you've drunk way more koolaid than any haters have. I never really followed Sucks Idol threads after the season was over, so I'm new to this kind of mania surrounding a contestant. I just need to look in the past season threads now to see what I've been missing (and Jesus H. Christ is it scary!!), but I still don't understand feeling so personally defensive about an entertainer. I pretty much wish I'd watched him on the season and then shut off both the tv and this thread, because I think I'd still like him a whole lot better. Having said all this - I'll still buy his album becuase his voice is just that phenomenal. And I probably will regret posting this because I like everybody here, and don't really want to argue. It just seemed like there's no room for honest disagreement that his shit might actually stink a bit, lol.

I have made comments, not even in THIS thread, but in the "hate" thread because I respected people in this thread and the fact that they love him. That's what the love and hate thread is for. But if you hate Adam, then you are jealous or a hypocrite, etc. I never call anyone in here names, but the minute I talked shit about ADAM in a thread specific to that, that's what people start doing. If I attacked a poster personally, I would expect to be called names or attacked back. But a celebrity? No. Like you, I liked Adam to begin with but now I'm just a hater and jealous because he's successful. That makes NO sense. If I like a performer I want to see them excel and do well. Jennifer Hudson is a fine example. I don't get these hypocrite or jealousy comments at all. Nor why people care so much that others think Adam is an asshole. Why does it matter? Why should anyone have to defend why you feel a certain way? No one is asking anyone in this thread to say why they obsess and love Adam so much. So why are people who don't like him put on the defensive every time they make a comment? Tani, this behavior is reminiscent of another former contestant we all know. They could do ANYTHING, and it would be defended. And applauded. If another Idol or celebrity did it, it would be appalling. And if you said anything bad about him, all hell would break loose. Why would I, as someone who LIKED Adam be bitter or have it sound like sour grapes? If he is successful or not, I would still feel the same way. He may very well be hugely successful but the things I don't like about him have nothing to do with his success or non-success. So I'm not sure what there is for me to be jealous of or why I have sour grapes. Over WHAT? I didn't compete on Idol, I'm just someone who watches the show and likes some people and not others. I'm not jealous. It's not sour grapes. I'm certainly not bitter. What does that even mean? Over a reality show contestant?? I get along with pretty much everyone around here (and Tani is a great person and poster who gets along with all), so seeing some of you starting with the name calling, hurling "hypocrite" and "bitter" comments and getting angry over a reality show contestant reeks of Claymatish behavior like I've not seen since then. I thought it would be possible to explain rational reasons for being a bit uncomfortable with certain things he's done. Where is the "Still like Adam but wish he'd tone it down a bit" thread? It's clear there's no room in here for discussion that isn't hate, but isn't love either. I wasn't personally offended by Adam on tour. No, I just thought about how I'd almost taken my kid to see the concert - not a stretch, since AI is ostensibly a family friendly show. I don't know about you, but I have no desire to have my 8 year old daughter watch a man, however sparkly and lovely he is, hump the air and jack off his mike stand. And lol at his not soliciting sex toys being thrown at him - if you don't pretend like you're fucking things, people generally throw you roses instead. How should he have handled swastika-gate? Hell yes, he should have apologized. It's what smart celebrities do when they hit a bad publicity snag. I was a reluctant ADam fan who really grew to love him; but this thread scares me. While I totally do not think Adam is the asshole people make him out to be, I understand why some people DO believe that. I also do not think Adam is the saint of the Universe, nicest guy ever to fans, roadies and defenseless animals. He is a human being for Jeebus' sake; and he is incredibly ambitious. In my book, that explains a lot of the negative stuff: he is pushing people's buttons because that is what "rock stars" do... AND it gets attention for him. I personally thought it was cool that he made the AI tour a little more shady... though it perhaps was NOT the best venue to do it. That said, there is no way he would be suggestive purely because HE wanted to... at least in that tour. I do not understand the swastika. PEriod. Just don't get it at all. Ilike that he was pushing Allison on his tweets... he seems to care about the other contestants, which is really cool. I don't know whether to believe the internet and gossip reports of his alleged divadom... but then again... hardly new for a pop princess. And I personally would have kicked dildos off the stage myself... and TOTALLY understand the context of stinky fans. My point? He is human. Some like him and some don't. I was speaking in general terms about the haters thread with regard to Kris fans who are bitter over the attention Adam receives. Just like posters in the lovers thread are characterized as fat housewives whose opinions mean nothing. I mean, geez, actually I see that opinion all over Sucks - and it does make me think these people, rather than being clever, are bitter and have serious disdain towards women - or maybe they just hate their mothers? Beats me! In fact, I think I was venting just general frustration. But I really hate confrontation and arguing, so I'm done complaining! :) Tani and CG - Please post in this thread more often!! It's boring as hell if it's just positive. For that I can go to one of his fan websites. But I like it here for the free atmosphere and the snark. Believe me when I say that I have often been a debbie downer and posted negative things. I don't love everything he does. I didn't like every AI performance, the Bowie part of the concert did nothing for me, and the thought of him working with Lady Gaga makes me cringe. Adam is totally into pushing buttons and when it's just for attention and publicity - that bugs me. Case in point: lady gaga at the mtv music awards looked like a complete idiot. Her songs are catchy, but I don't find her "brilliant," I find her ridiculous for the sake of trying to get people to talk. If Adam can't back up the button pushing with great music that I love, I will have no problem moving on. I'm very curious to see what he comes out with. He's been living in a plastic and pretentious town and hangs around plastic and pretentious people. He like attention - that's an understatement. I think he gets off on performing. Question is, will his highly anticipated album be any good? So far, I love Time For Miracles - especially starting just before the 3 minute mark.
