The reason TAR Israel did the detour tasks (2nd Vietnam leg [Basket Boats or Basket Bikes] and entire Japan leg [Teach or Study, parodied from Teach It or Learn It]) which they were based from Leg 11 of TAR3 and Leg 3 of TAR12. This episode was pretty much a remake of the leg on Amazing Race 5 when they went up to the top of Burj al-arab and then went off-roading in the desert area. It looks like they're going to Wild Wadi again, just like the subsequent episode in season 5. I also hate to say that Amazing Race Asia did Ski Dubai better.

The task looks exactly like the task the teams did in TAR 5 after the Dubai pit stop, just before the teams went to New Zealand. The water slide is called Jumeirah Sceirah. It is a speed slide that takes riders down a 33 meter (108 feet) slide at speeds of up to 80 km/hr (50 MPH). Is this the first time that a task has been duplicated in the same city on two different editions of the Race?

Is the world not big enough for them to pick another water park? another market? another ff task that doesn't involve head shaving? they really shouldn't repeat tasks ever imo, especially in the same locations.

Um, the water park is Spoiler [+] actually Atlantis, not Wild Wadi, per RFF. And they've been repeating tasks since Season 5 (the head-shaving FF was apparently first offered in Season 2, Leg 5) and locations, as far as I remember, since Season 10 (Juyongguan, Eiffel Tower).
