It would be much cooler to have a female racer named "Big Easy."

I hate how the show keeps reminding us of their jobs. I am not a Globetrotter. I am not a poker champion. I have never been Miss America. I don't find most
of them relatable. Still, the poker girls bring the lulz, something these two never do.

"being in dubai is crazy, but not as crazy as going through katrina, which i went through. you know, katrina? the hurricane? the desert reminds me of it
because, you know, it's really dry here but it was soooo wet in new orleans during katrina, the hurricane that i endured. i'm only glad my training as
one of the world-famous harlem globetrotters and my love for my dead father got me through that awful hurricane, which has now prepared for the rough
conditions of the desert, which is like the opposite of katrina. hurricane katrina, that is."

A friend of mine for the last 4 years was evacuated from Katrina's war path in Mississippi. Afterwards, she has was able to salvage one large box of
possessions -- everything else was a loss or literally washed away. I think she's mentioned the experience twice, compared to Big Easy four or five
references in two episodes.

I kind of hated that the Globetrottes won a vacation (Aruba?) for winning their leg, but the leg leg when another team won it was like "we got nothin for
you". I'm not saying give out a trip every leg of the race-but let's not pretend the producers don't control whether or not a prize is given
out on a given leg. Giving the team that has already travelled more than the other 11 teams COMBINED a free trip is just a bit much.

Are we suppose to feel sorry for them? Every episode there's a sad story they have to tell.

They should live in the Philippines or Taiwan where the whole fucking country is flooded 10' after the weekly typhoon hits.

hey i'm new here. i've been watching AR since Season 1, but after Season 3 I didn't follow the show much. this time, I am...so it's great
fun. I continue to be a fan of the show.
as for the globetotters, especially big easy, let's not pound on the man. they are competing and having fun just like the rest running the amazing race/adventure. so what if they've travelled far more than others. that's part of their jobs. doesn't bother me. arrive #1, get a prize, good for them. hey, it's there for the taking for all the other racers, right? as for big easy always talking about his dad and friend's death and katrina....why not???? those are two awful things to happen in someone's life, so why not talk about it. i've never lost a loved one or have to go through an awful hurricane that wiped out everything i owned or killed people i care/love or saw dear neighbors struggle for life...so give the man a break. i don't see it as a "tiring" life experience to share with others. the AR filming crew decided to air his story maybe because it brings awareness (maybe drama), but i think it's not overbearing. it is part of life to struggle and build strength to move on or start over. i might sound sentimental..basically i'm just being a reasonable and understanding human being. i like them..as the rest of the teams. hope they make it to the finish line. have fun all of you here. |

as for big easy always talking about his dad and friend's death and katrina....why not???? For one thing, they billed as the "comic relief". The Clowns were as funny as testicular cancer, but they didn't actively bring down the mood by mentioning tragedies in half their confessionals.
