I didn't include Brit cop series so I am including them now.... number 2. is the UK (original) version of Life on Mars. Two seasons of perfection. number 3. The Sweeney (another Brit cop series) which is what every cop show in America in the 1980s and 1990s tried to copy for grit and realism. Every series SA and I mentioned, owe a debt to The Sweeney. If you can, download season one with the commentary, but only listen to David Simons, George Pellacanos (BRILLIANT writer by the way - buy anything of his and be prepared to be blown away), and Ed Burns. They tell the best stories.

They need to just get rid of their entire show line-up except for The Office, P&R, 30 Rock and the two Law & Orders and just start from scratch again. I also heard they cut their disaster drama "Day One" from a series to a mini-series.
