I think Jeff's blogs from last season are better than this season. He went a tad overboard on his love for Shambo this time. Thanks for posting it though!

It sounds like we are supposed to like Shambo, Erik, Natalie and bad Russell, so let's say they won't be out any time soon. Another apropos of nothing visibility spike for John. (Wonder if Probst realizes Brett is on the show? Maybe he thought he was a production intern or something.) |

the problem with Jeff writing these blogs is that he is writing from the point of view of being out there with them and not the way the viewer sees it. I'm
sure Shambo is a great person to be around normally but when you play Survivor and you have an entire group that likes to lay on the the beach and splash in
the water then you have to do it too, even if you don't think its a great idea. She separated herself right away on day one and now she has zero chance of
getting back in Galu's good graces. As a viewer, to me, she comes across as whiny, annoying and just plain bad at this game. If she goes far, she will have
been riding on luck's coattails. Erik has his head in the game, for now anyway. He knew Monica was the reason they lost and that as much as Yasmin does
nothing around camp, she was fast and strong for challenges. Him telling Russell of the plan to vote out Yasmin was him saving a potential ally and as long as
Russell is there as the leader, Erik can avoid falling into that spot. As for Yasmin, when you are winning all the challenges you have to step up and do more
than just what people ask you to do around camp. Sherea from China had the same attitude as Yasmin about camp work, but the difference was that Sherea's
tribe was losing and needed her strength while Galu felt they could risk losing Yasmin since they havent lost yet. On a separate note, to me, it seems like
only Russell H, Erik, and arguably Ashley are playing to win, the rest are playing for second. Step it up people, there are so many of us that would love to
out there playing and seeing this group is starting to get frustrating.

I don`t mind Jeff liking Shambo, but I HATE editing shove her POV down our throat so we have nobody else to care about on Galu. Laura is about 40, a strong
accomplished woman, and playing a great social game with the younger girls. Yet she gets ignored.
They let us love the Pagong kids, even though Sue (Shambo) and Richard (Russell) won out. In Cooks, editing favoured the middle-aged malcontent Jonathan, always slagging the ``Raro kids`` - but at least Parvati, Nate, and Candice got a decent edit. Shambo betrays Galu, hooks up with Russell, and he dominates. We get it. Huge editing spoiler. But stop trying so fucking hard to make us like it. |

Exactly. The blend of presumption and insecurity is awful to get through. Last season we heard every week about how awesome Coach was and how he was the best
ever entertainment, yet we also got to sit through weeks of Jeff trying to push people into liking Coach and justifying Coach every step of the way.
Now we get this talk about how he knows everyone loves Shambo, but then he has to proceed in explaining how she's just the poor long-suffering martyr frozen out by the cool kids. If we love her that much, why do we need to be told this? And if Foa Foa are such a paradise and so accepting, as Jeff claims, if they are the "outsiders", then why the hell are they edited as being complete dunces or babies or idiots whose only purpose is to play for Russell? The show can't have it both ways. Shambo groveling at the feet of Foa Foa didn't come across to me as the great arrival they wanted, because all we have seen of Foa Foa is Russell, and at that time, Ben. When Shambo practically kissed the feet of Ben, the most repulsive person on that team, my opinion of her didn't exactly increase. Shambo is a dull, predictable character. Laura is much more unique for Survivor, and yet we don't see her or hear about her, because it's so much easier to go to the poor mistreated misfit persecuted by the brats arc YET AGAIN, one which bears little reality to what we actually see on the show. If anything, considering how many times she's damaged Galu, they have been nice to her. Wearing loud clothes and having weird hair and feeling sorry afor yourself doesn't make you an underdog. It seems like dislike for Shambo is increasing on some of the boards I have seen. Maybe that's why we get this big defense of her.

God, so tired of hearing people bitch and bitch and bitch. It's his blog, he has his own thoughts and opinions if you don't like it, tough shit. I don't like some of the stuff he says but he still has a better grasp on the game, the people and the characters better then most of the whiney twats here. |
