Yes, Jen has an icy manner, but I lurv, lurv, lurv her. I cried when she cried at Ashley's boot. I thought, "Oh, she's now going to 'do it for Zoey, er, Ashley." Not that I think they have an extra-culinary relationship. I just think that Jen is feeling a bit like the lone warrior there as the strongest female cook. I think she's a bit sensitive about the gender imbalance (note her reaction to the boy vs girl challenge. She was very "this is BULL SHIT" to bring attention to gender and not to just focus on individual skill.) Remember the female chef in Ratatouille. Oooh, emotions run deep for female chefs. She's feeling the pressure.

I think Jen does a great job with the design, execution and presentation of food. Her sauces have been praised throughout the challenges. She can balance the art and the science of cooking to great effect. (OK, I'm gushing. I admit it.)

I do like Kevin and Jen the best with Bryan third. Kevin has shown himself to be more comfortable and experienced as a "regional" chef (Southern), so I initially was biased against him making Top 4. However, he pulled off that Asian cuisine in both the quick fire and the elimination challenge. He has great instincts and technique. And he has a jaunty / pleasant manner. I am seeing him as the UTR ultimate winner of the whole thing. Bryan seems too much like the frontrunner by just analyzing the number of wins. Is he peaking way too early? But maybe he'll screw up and get a redemption edit. Oh, wait. Mike V. is in the middle of a screw up on the way to a redemption effort?

Mike Greek. Please go. Did you see how many times he said, "I" instead of "we" when talking about his team challenge? He totally overestimates his abilities.

Robyn. She doesn't deserve to be scapegoated by the others. She may be a weak chef, but talented people don't feel a need to verbally abuse the weak. Eli, Mike and Laurine look like jerks for criticizing Robyn.

Ash. He's a totally smooth talker. He won with that ice-cream-turned-custard because of his gift of gab. And now it's just apparent that he's all talk. Mike V. was so livid to have Ash assign all responsibility to a dish that was on the B2 at judges table. Hello! People in charge of failed dishes GO HOME. And that's just what happened to Ashley.

Blah, blah, blah. I'm blathering. I was so happy to have an epi after two weeks, I'm a manic mess today. I'll take my "Robyn-style" chattiness and leave you now. "Hootie" . . . "Hoo" for now.
