Shion is Queen reported that Shannon was also hurt about 2 weeks in, which is about in this time frame. The player is not necessarily GRuss.

The player need not be removed from the game for dehydration. Blake and BJ were actually treated and re-entered the game in Guatemala. The key for them is they
did not miss a challenge or TC.

crocophile wrote:Right. The Roll with It challenge was not run to completion. What happens when a player is injured in the middle of a challenge and unable to continue? Does the affected team automatically forfeit the challenge? And does that mean the injured member has in effect "missed" the challenge and must therefore leave the game? Or are they allowed to come back as long as they don't miss a TC? Or is the team normally allowed to replace the player with one of the players they had sat down for the challenge? Does this mean the challenge is restarted from scratch, regardless of the state of the challenge (was a team in a significant lead? was construction work destroyed that needs to be repaired for the challenge to start again?) What if the affected team was down in numbers and didn't even have an extra player sitting out? Is that the only way a challenge wouldn't be completed or rerun? Would that mean the injured player in this case was on Foa Foa? I'm thinking the simplest scenario is the most plausible. Hurt player, team unable to complete challenge, forced exit. But who knows?

The article mentions it's never completed. So I guess it means they never redone the challenge. Simple as that. I'm thinking it probably will be
considered that the challenge never existed.

Injured during a challenge? Jeff Wilson just stopped competing in Palau. Ben was evicted but replaced in S19. I'm not sure how that relates to not
finishing. There could have been a foreiture. Maybe the other tribe committed a foul. Maybe one tribe didn't have enough players any more. I'm sure
several more.

The only one I remembered who was injured during a challenge was Jim from Guatemala during the first IC. He snapped his biceps I think. I mean that didn't
stop the challenge. He just stop helping after that happened.
I'm sure when it said "the challenge never reached completion" It means that the player was medivac hence no reason to continue the challenge. |

Yeah, some challenges a player could stand around being useless and that's your tribe's business. Some challenges each member of the team has to do
something (like complete an obstacle course).
The rules are whatever MB and them say they are. I don't think they could get away with acting like the challenge never existed, though. They'll have to show it, to explain where the player went. But they could come up with some Samoan cultural mumbo jumbo, especially if it is the duly fishhooked leader who is removed, such that neither team won or lost. Shion is Queen reported that Shannon was also hurt about 2 weeks in, which is about in this time frame. The player is not necessarily GRuss.I was remembering that it was something about hurt her shoulder. Did I make that up? |

It was her shoulder, and GRus was supposed to be an old injury - perhaps neither fit.

We do know there are two medivacs this season. One's already happened. Shambo AND Russell S. can't both be medivacs. Either one or the other (or
neither).

The article does mention it is a Reward challenge.
It turns out that cipher5150, a poster at Blows, was much more alert than I was, since he/she posted about the magazine article before I posted it here. Another Blows posted, CTgirl, posted a larger (therefore clearer) version of the scan than I did, also before I posted mine here. It can be seen at this link. |

If it's a life threatening deal related to dehydration I'm looking at who is not in shape. Shannon makes apparently makes it further so I'd rule
her out. GRuss is in good physical shape, although the 'spoilers' make him a candidate as an evacuee. Is FatRuss in good shape? Dunno. Who else, maybe
Liz?
Going back to pre-game comments Ashley TDT noted this at MESS:
"We lost a couple of people to evacuations" As I was going through the intro videos, I noticed that two people expressed worries about
getting injured: Ashley: "And also be very cautious, you know, when walking around, because you don't want to get like, medicaled out...
at all." Shannon: "I'm going for it. It's gonna be all good. As long as I don't get hurt." I don't know that this
actually happens to either of them, but considering how chopped up the intro videos are, it's interesting that they chose to include these specific
sound bites. Shannon reportedly is hurt albeit not enough to remove her. By words Ashley would be a possibility in ep 6 although contrary to the
'spoilers'.

I would believe what someone said earlier, that Good Russell would drink less than his share of scarce water, because he thinks it's his fault or he thinks
he's in good enough shape to do without or he's taking care of the women or such.
If we're going back to the beginning to look for subtle hints, there's still the edit weirdness of John's E1 collapse and negativity... |

That is a good point Birdlady. The whole 'get up off the mat' thing that John was doing. Maybe he does collapse and this time he does not get back up.
I was the one that brought up Good Russ falling to his own belief that as leader he should take on the biggest burden, and not drink the water to leave it for his ladies. I wonder if this happened if he would be thought of as a hero? Maybe we will get the widows on Galu crying and lamenting the loss of their beloved Russ and they will plot to revenge him! |

I could see Shambo getting her shoulder hurt in this challenge. It could happen whether she is inside the ball or pushing. As to the dehydration, well that
could be anyone. I would suspect it would be one of the "rollers" because they would he exerting the most energy, sweating and generating the body
heat that could cause a collapse. So I guess I would be looking at which four players are most likely picked to be the persons "rolling" the ball.

Wouldn't a 5 by 5 tribal challenge tend to discredit a merge at 12?

JT4ever wrote: Well, that's why. That's a lot of potential sit outs so late in the tribal game. There must be some sort of upcoming 'evening out' of the tribes to guarantee at least 5 people on each side. Episode 6 must start with 14, or 13 (or possibly even 12) with potential double boots and/or med evac. 3 or 4 just seem like a lot of sit outs. |
