IMO she's one of the strongest women Survivor has ever had. She stayed cool, calm, collected and level-headed when things were clearly not going her way. Never once did she bitch, moan or complain. She just kept on fighting. Just because she alligned with men and wasn't loud and obnoxious, doesn't mean she's a shame to feminists everywhere. If anything, it's the complete opposite. I know she won mostly because of Steph backlash, but I honestly think in any other season she could've been one of those very few women who could pull off a Westman/JT/Yul kind of win.

I actually think that she's a cool and likeable person. She's also kind of hot and a big sports fan, which is always awesome to see in a woman. She just didn't have much of an interesting personality. She was just too boring for me to have a strong like for.

She was at the mercy of Rafe the entire time, and took advantage of his screw up.

I think that is the reason much of Sucks dislikes her, or at least feels indifferent. =P

I can understand if you want to like anyone. But going back to 2004, just for criticizing or making observations based on her play (or lack thereof), to have hundreds attacking you soley on speaking against Shii Ann and saying NOTHING about what I was actually posting has more or less turned me against the She Devil and those that follow her forever.

I check out the last page to see Danni bashing and we all know how I have to defend her awesome game. One of the best winners and female players in this game's history. Just because it was the Steph-show and she was not focused on as a "personality" does not detract from her epic game-win. At the mercy of Rafe? No. Steph listened to Rafe. Rafe listened to Danni post-Gary. You tell me who was running that game. It's logic. Danni is the closest person to replicating Tina's game of being a "moralist". Doing the "right thing" in Guatemala always meant doing what benefitted Danni. She competed really well in the challenges pre-merge and some post-merge. She manipulated Rafe, who she knew was calling shots and in Steph's ear. Through lying her ass off, she orchestrated Judd's boot. Through lying her ass off, she got Rafe to take her to the F3 where he had guaranteed F2. oops, she took the goat. There's not one single person who disliked in Danni except for Rafe, because he was a bitter bitch. Top notch social game if we've ever seen one.

No matter what happened in Nakum, she was the only person to be in all the controlling core alliances. Too bad her edit sucked in comparison to other winners, because when she was on camera i.e. Judd's boot, she was extremely likable.

People inflate her game because they like her personality. She wasn't shown doing anything but being leftovers that never got eaten, which is fine because I'm sure the money spends just the same. I don't like passive winners as a general rule anyway, and especially not at the expense of THE most legendary female Survivor ever: Stepheme LaGrossa aka Big Hongry. Danni as a contestant was ok, but Danni as a winner sucked. I think it's so funny that people defend her win and yet hate Amber's win when Danni was like three thousand times more irrelevant throughout Guatemala and only had like two brief instances of mattering. wtfever.

I give her credit for her social game, which I do admit is very good(Not better other winners such as Parvati or Tom however), and for manipulating Rafe. What I don't give her credit for, is end game positioning. What a ridiculous argument. He didn't vote her out because Danni manipulated him into not doing so when it was completely advantageous for him to do so. That's like saying Tom only got to the end because Caryn didn't vote him out at F7. duh. Danni got Rafe to completely throw his game away. After Gary went home, Rafe booted people and backstabbed the same people that Steph did, essentially setting himself up to the point where he HAD TO FACE Steph or he would have a hard time winning. The only thing that was questionable was the Blake boot, which could explain the downward spiral their tribe went into and the reason for post-merge loss in numbers. But the way she got the Axis to demolish themselves was epic and deserves credit. This is opposite of Chris, who had things fall into place at F7 for him. Admittedly so, he played it pretty well F6 and on relative to his other competitors Twila/Scout. Again, Danni wasn't shown. That's not the point. she played a good game. Amber did not play a good game. That's the difference. IF you want to say they both sucked because they were "non factors"/"UTR"/"boring" or whatever that's fine, but a superb game deserves superb credit. //fan-boy rant over. Posts: 12529 (10/08/09 12:13 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Danni's kind of like Vecepia in that they both made some big mistakes pre-merge that cost them dearly--but after the merge their games were almost flawless, although it did require some mistakes on their opponents' parts. In neither case did it make for particularly interesting television. That brings up another reverse example of this topic...why doesn't Vecepia get more love? Years ago I would've said she was a waste of a slot but I rewatched Marquesas a while back and realized she's probably one of the hardest yet most subtle players ever. She wasn't an electrifying personality herself, but check out the F5 episode. It's arguably the most dramatic episode ever, and a ton of that is indirectly driven by Vecepia. She certainly wasn't a great character but she was critical to the second half of the season.

Oh, I think both they (and I) are being ficticious with that. I am responsible for a lot of Shii Ann bashing on the net over the years. I had some edit wars at Wikipedia over Shii Ann's article there. It was originally written in ways that made Shii Ann look like she was smart and was written by some fans of hers. But as I got better and better at make revisions that made Shii Ann look stupider and stupider AND that were enough to meet Wikipedia standards, they actually deleted the page rather then see a revision of Shii Ann's page that made her look bad stand.

She didn't make any attempt to become a big character or give confessionals or engage the audience in her story. She did it all stealthy and under the radar, which is why nobody even noticed her as a character until around the final four. Like I said, it's the same reason she won the game. Here's a fan base I have never understood: Janu. Why do people like her but hate Osten? They are the exact same whiny, worthless, mopey quitting player!
