She's All That



I love Makeovers!!! Rachel Leigh Cook plays dorky Laney Boggs, and Freddie Prinze Jr. Plays Zach Siler, the popular jock in high school. At the start of the movie, we find out that Zach's girlfriend Taylor has found a new boyfriend, and is no longer his girlfriend.

While talking to his buddies, he says that he is more popular that Taylor. They challenge him to a bet to pick any girl at school and turn her into prom queen.

They end up picking Laney, who is an artsy fartsy geek with NO sense of style. THE BET IS ON.

Zach eventually makes his way into her life, and invites her to hang out with his friends. He ends up getting his sister Mackenzie to give her a makeover, and she turns out to be rather good looking (which clearly impresses Zach).

Anywho, Laney eventually finds out about the bet cause Paul Walker wants to screw Zach over. He ends up bringing Laney to prom, Laney loses the prom queen title to Taylor, Zach gets prom queen, Paul Walker tries to get Laney to go to a hotel with him, she bruises his ego, Zach goes after her… find her at home, they make up and live happily ever after.

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE makeovers.

Bring It On

I love Dances!!! As you will see in my list, I really enjoy watching dance movies, as well as a few musicals.

With Bring It On, I was having issues placing it (and even debating having it on my list) because I HATE Kirsten Dunst, but I LOVE Eliza Dushku and Gabriel Union. The dances at the end were AMAZING, and I was thouroughly entertained. Kirsten's acting aside, I thought everyone did a pretty good job.

So on to the movie, Torrance (played by Kirsten) becomes the captain of the school cheerleading team and begins recruiting. There, she meets Missy (Elizagoddess), a new student who wanted to join a Gymnastics team, but since there wasn't one is settling for cheerleading…

Torrance begins teaching her team some cheers, when Missy walks out. T (I'm annoyed with her name) runs after her, pissed!! Missy drags T to the Clover's home turn in East Compton. She shows T that all of the Toro's routines are stolen step for step from the Clovers.

Here we meet Isis (Gabrielgoddess), the Clover captain who has had enough of the Toro's taking their routines and using them to win the cheerleading championship. She's determined to lead her team to those championships, they just need to raise the money for it.

NOW here comes the line of the movie.

Isis: You wanna make it right? Then when you go to Nationals... bring it. Don't slack off because you feel sorry for us. That way, when we beat you, we'll know it's because we're better.
Torrance: Oh, I'll bring it. Don't worry.

Isis: I never do.

T also falls for Missy's brother, Cliff (played by the cute Jesse Bradford), who is the cliché relationship and a little eye candy (even though the movie didn't really need it… the ladies were enough to carry the movie IMHO).

T hires the glamorous Sparky Polastri to teach them a new routine. This doesn't end well as their spirit fingers fall flat and they are warned by officials that cheating will not be tolerated. T has to now come up with a new routine strong enough to win the championship for a 6^th time in a row.


The Toro's explore all kinds of new dances, and they put it all into one AMAZING routine with lots of attitude and heart. Now on to nationals, both teams do really well, and the two captains even give each other a few tips.

In the end, the better team won, the one with all the original moves who deserved the win for 5 years. The East Compton Clovers!!!

T gets with Cliff, and every one ends up happy.

I love dance movies, I find them very entertaining. While I thought I would find it super terrible, while cheesy, it really surpassed all of my expectations. Not the best movie, but still a very good chick flick.

Spark: Because, in cheerleading we throw people into the air, and fat people don't go as high.
