It's weird because I used to have a moderate New Jersey accent (which is a lot like a New York accent with some slight differences - the second person
plural in Jersish is "y'guys" for both formal and informal cases, while in New York, it would be "you guys" [informal] or "yous
guys" [formal]. Then I moved to Texas for five years, and now I, like most people here, end up using "y'all" for my second person plural.
I could probably do a Recieved Pronunciation British voice easier than I can do a "plain American" accent. It really is hard to pull off - so kudos, Paul. |
