Well, perhaps you need to re-read the thread then, because discussion has been focussed on Russell needing to have seen the clue for the Hidden Idol or
needing to have seen Yasmin searching for it in order to look for and/or find it. My post was in direct response to that pointless discussion.

VolcanicGlass wrote:No such discussion here. The issue discussed directly above was when Russell found the idol (i.e. not when the editors told us he did), not whether he needed Yasmin and her clue to look and/or find it. The original topic of course was whether Russell will be allowed to use the idol. And that, I agree, is a pointless discussion. |

Again, perhaps you should re-read the thread. There has been discussion indeed about whether Russell saw a clue or whether Russell saw Yasmin looking for the
Hidden Idol.
Still amused. JT4ever wrote: |

I'll admit I'm not a 'finished carpenter' the point as to whether Russell actually saw a clue or inferred where to look by observing is pretty
much the same to me. VG is absolutey correct they should have guessed there may be a Hidden Idol in camp. I tend to doubt Gary finds his HI if he doesn't
watch Judd. My interpretation here, rightly or wrongly is he may have gotten similar info from watching Yasmin and/or seeing her clue.
...and VG we haven't seen much of you lately at MESS we all hope you stop by at least every now and then. |

Betsy says maybe we will see what happens soon - maybe even the next episode. She also says the Evil Ones strategy worked.

Doesn't really matter if Russ saw the clue, made an observation about Yasmin's behavior, suddenly figured out there would be a HII at his camp or if
Production told him, hey Russ go stick your head in that tree hole and look up.
He has the HII. JP's words about the HII's are that each tribe has an HII hidden in the other tribes camp. The only thing I can think of requiring discussion is does that make Russ finding the HII that was intended for Galu valid for him to use? I'm sure that production didn't think of this happening but I'm sure there is a rule about it somewhere. LOL |

VolcanicGlass wrote:The discussion was not about whether he needed Yasmin and her clue to look for the idol or to find it. There was no debate that Russell was already looking around for the idol even before Yasmin and the clue. He clearly was. So this: Factoring only the possibilities for Hidden Idols to be in play, two out of three possibilities are for them to be back at camp.was a point that didn't need making. And the discussion had already agreed that it was very possible that Russell was looking for the idol around camp once Yasmin came over with the clue, this: Once Probst handed the clue to Yasmin before she went back to Foa Foa, it should have been clear as a bell to anyone who had not figured it out by that point that there were Hidden Idols at play and that they were back at each respective camp.was also a point that didn't need making. |

Tweaking the argument slightly to make it appear the point being argued now is the point that was being argued then.

I dunno, I still think the part about there being fish in the ocean is more amusing...
Doesn't really matter if Russ saw the clue, made an observation about Yasmin's behavior, suddenly figured out there would be a HII at his camp or if Production told him, hey Russ go stick your head in that tree hole and look up.It might matter a little as far as the other one. If it's so obvious that there must be an idol in camp, are they all looking, too? This one didn't seem too terribly difficult, is the other one that easy? (Does someone already have it, and the editors just forgot to include that?) |

Other things to think about: What if he tried to use it to save himself and they did not allow it, wow, hello legal department. What if he does not have to use
it before the merge - is it his then to use. The simple solution is like Jeff always says - keep the idol - do not let someone else hold it for you - keep it.
Remember his comments about Taj allowing Stephen to hold the Idol - it became Stephens idol. So I think it will be his to use however he wants to.

I had a way in which to find out the answer to this question about if Russell can use the hidden immunity idol since it was stated it belongs to the other
tribe. I will tell you what I was told and it is from someone who would know. You can choose to believe it or not..dont matter to me. It is free to play..once
it is found the person who found it has it in their control until it is given away to someone else or it is played by that person. So the idol belongs to
Russell.

Well we'll probably find out shortly.
Just by the editing and focus on Russell I am sure that hes not long for this game. 2 maybe 4 more Episodes MAX, He'll be gone by Jury thats for sure. No matter what a douche he is he's been given waaaaay too much screentime in Episode 1 and 2. No way they would keep the focis on him and his antics for the entire series if he made it far into the game or the end. And since there REALLY is NO definative answer and nobody knows whats for sure with the immunity idol. This could be interesting. Since Survivor changes things at a drop of the hat you never know.
