well, they stab twice when the person is screaming and the stabber gets scared someone is coming and has to run.
it does take a lot to stab someone to death, and there's often not time to finish the job. |

Well one stab would make the person go into shock and that would be enough to silence the person. If the person actually screamed then it wasn't
technically a stab but a pierce, a poke, or a cut. A stab is a perpendicular insertion of a knife, and as a case should penetrate at least through the muscle.
Did Ron Goldman scream? No. He was too busy going into shock.
